False, anything at range and the GOSL would destroy the AK:

Close ranged and its damn close with the AK. I really don’t think weapon training is going to change anything.

I use it. And it does haha. It has no kick with weapons training.

Watch the video(how big the gap is!), I also use the AK with weapons training and you have a big difference when it comes to compare it to the hammerhead or the GOSL.

This is how they balanced the gun (depending on who you ask) by nerfing its ranged fire. Feel free to test it yourself with weapons training like how that guy did if you think there is any way you’re going to get even close to the GOSL on ranged targets.

So you just mean the damage drop off? Cause yeah that’s a thing but uhh. When is the scenario where they predator is far away and you’re landing more than a few shots before he moves? Again this is being overthought. Any predator you are landing on consistently from range you would have killed with literally anything. Cause they aren’t very good. You can’t match a weapon that from close to mid range kills the predator in literal seconds

Don’t get me wrong the hammerhead is my favorite just cause I think it’s bad ass haha but I can’t sit here straight faced and say any of the other ARs are even close to the AK

No, it means that at a distance the weapon is bad (compared to others) and its somewhat better at close range (when predator charges in).

Now if you find a predator that plays the range game (PS, pistor, bow) you’re going to do worse with the AK then with the hammerhead or GOSL. That is why when I see a PC predator I switch to GOSL/HAMMERHEAD. The odds of them playing the ranged game is great enough and this 2 weapons have excellent stopping power up close(so you don’t lose that much even in close combat).

Yes, they will move about, that is why its very important that when you actually land hits, to get the most of them in.

So to get back to what I’ve said initially.
Hammerhead better overall.
AK better in close combat.

The video above clearly demonstrates this, its a fact.

I don’t think this is overthinking it, its like saying shotguns are good up close but shit at a distance (or SMG’s for that matter).

I don’t like the AK so much.
Depending on my mood and playstyle, my top 3 are:

  1. G-ROW: Best rate of fire and DPS. IMHO best for close to mid-range combat and Spray&Pray.
  2. Hammerhead: Best accuracy and versatility of all Assault Rifles. Insanely accurate with weapons training perk.
  3. GOSL-R: Good Damage and accuracy, but the rate of fire is awfully slow. Good for mid to long distance combat though. Even better if you have a full on sniper as your battlebuddy.

The AK and M4 are just too ineffective for me and my team.
Except for the Sniper Rifles, we mostly use the main weapon for killing AI and occasionally putting holes in Predators. If I really want to kill Predators, I use my ZR-55 or Uzi/MP7.

G row is not that viable , ak is better for close range, plus with the G row you will finish your ammo much faster. I found AK good in Overgrouth and GOSL for back water, in derailed you can use whatever you want since most of the job is usually done by snipers.
