Is this game getting the Pokémon GO treatment?

People on Pokémon GO would spoof their locations so they didn’t have to physically walk.

The creators of the game (Niantic) didn’t actively handle the situation to the point they just added features to combat the exploits/hacking, instead of banning said people due to fear of “losing the playerbase”.

So, are we just eventually going to get features in the future surrounding all of these exploits?

Are we going to have a game actively policed and managed to hone in the way this game should be played? (Illfonic can’t ban anyone from playing their game, the only control they have is over this forum. Holding my breath on this one)

Or none of the above?

Thoughts?

It’s just time for people to move on.
This game isnt good.
Way too many issues and nothing being done.

If nothing more it’s purely for peoples own enjoyment.
You’ll have more fun on other games.

Pokemon Go does have ways to block the location spoofing, but as always, when there’s a will there’s a way. In case of Android, Niantic (as well as nintendo) do not allow you to play their games if they detect your device is rooted (which you need in order to spoof the location without the app detecting you are using mock location), but there are workarounds to block an android app from detecting your device is rooted.

Rooting your device is fun, I used to do it all the time to debloat all the shit manufacturers and carriers pre-load them with and I also experimented with Pokemon Go location spoofing. Wasn’t that great but it somewhat worked. Today, I don’t root devices anymore because you can’t use them with bank apps, Google Pay, Venmo, etc. and I use those on a daily basis. So I prefer to just buy unlocked devices that are bloat free (fuck you samsung!). You can’t simply use mock location on those. It doesn’t work.

I think illfonic’s best bet is to require an account specific and dedicated for this game, though I believe they lack the man power to even have some oversight to it. Not to mention the mammoth of wrong reports they will likely get, as this game has so many “first time gamers” that think everyone is cheating whenever the health goes down in a split second.

And there’s legit bugs like the combistick throw insta-down, fully invisible pred, etc. that will get players reported as cheaters when they are not even aware of what is happening.

Same with the axes stacking dmg.

The fact they are allowing newer players to play their game and build up a wrong sense of how the game should be, then pulling the rug on those players (hypothetical future fixes needed for the game), will hurt the game more.

They need to do something cause this waiting around for a perfect storm is only going to negatively affect everything.

Least the forum has like 1-3 trolls now and little to no bs being posted.

Probably the only good thing to happen, leaving it stagnant for this long.

This game had ps plus and steam launch to turn around.
They literally never had any intention to. Year 1 was just dripfeeding withheld content after they launched a game that was the same as the beta & tweaking numbers. Year 2 is lol, lmao even. Outsourcing on outsourcing.

Their licensed games just exist to fund their failed independent projects & then they can put all the blame on the publisher. They know a guy who knows a guy at Fox and that’s that.
