Is this the right direction?

Hooray we got longer matches now, but that’s only because neither team commits because of all the guaranteed healing. Pred doesn’t have to force a fight and most of these console preds can’t hit anything now that melee is extra garbage via bane + knife, parry & its shotgun tier damage so they’re (rightfully) scared to get close.
Now it’s just a stallfest where both teams runaway to go heal unless your pub team is unanimously rushing these boring ass AI but no one wants to shoot at them. Pubs usually just strafe around in a circle ocassionally pinging the pred and the pred runs away at half hp & that’s about it for 8 mins.

Pigs have always risked pred losing time on the FT, pred having 4 medkits does not.
Not against the concept of longer games at all, but its thematically awful having all your work undone on both sides via reinforcements, SW, medkits etc. EVERY match being a war of attrition is about as fun as getting slugged in DBD & a lot of it is because AI is boring as hell downtime.

Tl;dr game needs less second chances, not more. Everyone plays like they have 3 healthbars on both sides because they do. It’s arcadey and gross.

I think we need the full release and solid hours put in to judge properly. I’m having fun tho. Kudos to Illfonic and @Courier and @OldKingHamlet

I’m just happy the bugs are gone

Tomorrow we’ll get a better idea.

And extra kudos to the programmers, QA, and designers themselves that put huge amounts of hours into making this happen. I’ll trade slack messages with those guys till like 10 or 11 some nights.

Back on topic, here’s the awesome part about a game like this: If an update make the game less fun, then we will find ways to make it more fun.

Yea balance stuff has got to be much easier than bugs.

I’ve only played a couple matches but i’d found that with the double time and iron lungs buff, that the FT can be more aggresive than before

It’s subjective. Everyone will agree when a bug is fixed, but it’s next to impossible to get everyone to agree on balance.

I mean, on a technical level, adjusting balance values is a lot easier than trying to figure a nasty code bug out. But good balance in an asymmetric game looks at taking QA and community feedback, with a dash of gut feeling, then trying to build a collection of variables that minimizes exploits, yet rewards intelligent planning, all bundled up in a way that’s approachable to the pro and the noob.

I’m begging you, please do something about the Reinforcement Alert Sound. I’m sick of getting my eardrums raped because idiots are spamming it constantly, making my ability to focus on Predators sounds impossible. I’m at the stage now where if they spam that alert, I leave the game because screw them for dying anyway.

@OldKingHamlet A new mode where FT and Predator both bring out their bigger guns would be a lot of fun and I think more in line with what people have come to expect from modern online shooters

While you’re taking fair requests, can we do something about the giant red banner alerts on the screen as predator during reinforcement and when chopper is called? Can’t see shit.

And tone down all the green shit when second winded, because that’s a cluster fuck of crap on the screen.

Pred blood in general was better at launch. Now once he’s 50% hes bleeding buckets, its too misleading and looks goofy like pred just escaped a paintball fight.
