Issues with 2nd Wind...

So people keep complaining that they die in 2nd wind…well, yeah. It’s a chance, not a get out of jail free card. It’s not not supposed to be easy to stay alive. If you’ve entered 2nd wind, then ya done messed up and should probably be dead. The game gives you a free shot. Don’t expect it to be easy.

Now, there are balancing issues that are causing players to get impatient and rely on 2nd wind to get claims and get away, but that’s not what it’s there for. It’s just a chance to stay alive when you should be dead because you didn’t play right.

Yes, Pred needs some tweaks to be more effective, fireteam needs some as well, weapons needs attention (CS-12 is worthless) but the 2nd wind is fine. In fact, I’ve won several games because a foolish fireteam thought they could track me down and get an easy win. I hid, healed, circled around and slaughtered them when they spilt up. They screamed, I laughed.

The trick is to move unpredictably and run until you barely have meter left. You still have more stamina and they will tire before you, creating a gap for you to find a little corner or cove to heal. As for the scout class running you down, well, they’re really weak to damage and can be killed easily, and again, ya shouldn’t be in 2nd wind in the first place.

Second Wind is useless: for you can’t climb, leap, nor move fast enough to even apply healing because fire teams can out-run a Predator. If you are surviving after second wind it’s only because fire team is filled with noobs, is running to res teammates, or is continuing mission objectives. However, 9 out of 10 times they follow the Predator and you can’t out-pace the fire team to heal.

Not to mention you’re glowing bright white so you’re wicked visible, it’s bad enough you’re covered in glowing green blood but you’re also glowing white too, that affect needs to be removed.

During second wind Predators should still be able to climb trees and they should be able to out-run fire team members from sheer running gate alone.

Yeah, that’s my point. It shouldn’t be good. You did a bad job, didn’t pick your engagements or manage your health and got killed. It’s a slim chance, not a guarantee.

And I’ve only been killed once in 2nd wind, and that was because I was stupid and rushed the team in an open area with no cover to retreat to. Maybe I get lucky and only play against noobs but…I doubt it.

Try zig zaggin through trees and using them for cover. If you run away in a straight line through an open area with no cover they’re gonna light you up. Again, you still have more stamina and can run longer than the fireteam.

I wouldn’t be against giving the Pred an energy free automatic cloak while in 2nd wind and removing the bright white effect. Then automatically de-cloaking when you heal.

But allowing the Pred to leap away pretty much guarantees the fireteam will lose him and then people will just rush and say oh well I can;t be killed cause I’ll just get 2nd wind a run away.

If your health is getting shredded you should be running already. not sticking around for the down or claim and then only retreating once you’re in 2nd wind.

The Predator’s health is far too weak. Fire teams are literally spawning into matches now and just sitting at spawn-point and waiting for Predator to attack.

The Predator is so weak that he can’t effectively hunt, stalk, nor fight well geared fire teams at all. As the Predator I spend more time trying to find unfindable pigs because I loose most of my health the second I’m spotted by the fire team. Allot of times I can’t even get close enough to attack them because the Predator has so little health.

At this point I’m just playing as fire team until they buff the Predator and or nerf fire teams.

I agree that there is balancing that needs to happen. I’m just saying I don’t want 2nd wind to become something people can rely on as a get out of jail free card. Tweaking it too much could make it impossible to ever kill the Pred.

Most times I have to abandon any claims because there’s not enough time to claim because fire teams are rending your flesh with gunfire. Which is another issue I have, if a Predator kills a player but doesn’t get to claim a trophy it should still count as a kill and be displayed as such at end-game menu. Additionally, there should be a second column stating how many trophies claimed. The player kills and trophy claims are two different things and need to be listed separately.

I’d agree with that. I’ve also seen (I guess it’s a glitch) time when I know I killed 6 players total, but it will only state that I got 4? But sometimes it counts all 6. A kill should count as a kill, regardless of whether they reinforced and that player survived their 2nd chance.

But I’m not talking about all the bugs, balances and tweaks that need to happen in general. Just the 2nd wind.
