So, these have been making a comeback on the forums oddly enough and now its time to address both sides and the pros and cons of making JH87 a Non-Preorder exclusive. Before I begin, I want to state I do not think it should be released to everyone and I do not have JH87 either.
Now lets begin with the pros. Yes, it is a highly desired skin as a nod to the original Predator himself. He has a nice yet simplistic design. And of course who wouldn’t want to play the OG Predator considering the game is based around the original movie and they even have classic Dutch? Slightly better than the Hunter class and has less bugs from what I have heard from a few players than the other Predator classes. It could potentially add more players to the game due to a lot of people got the game due to it being a Predator game, but also because they thought they would get to play the JH. Many had not heard of this game until after the preorders and missed out, but with a release of this iconic Predator could make a world of difference to the game.
Now for the cons. This Predator was/is an exclusive item and it would be wrong to release it to the public as even a DLC. It would be like spitting in the players who preordered faces. It could potentially have a lot of backlash and a loss of more players than gained from releasing. Then, we also have the fact, even though extremely difficult, to obtain the mask from the Field Lockers. Even as bigger compromise than that they released the Elder Predator as another variation of JH. So, they at least went out of their way to make both parties happy, although for some this is not enough. There is also nothing particularly special about JH as it is basically a reskin of the Hunter class.
Now, for my final summary on this, JH87 should stay locked behind being a exclusive due to the potential more harm than good scenario and many only want it because others have it and they don’t. But, the devs have said it would stay a preorder exclusive, but the play on words leaves it open to suggestion that it won’t be permanently that way. If there is a possibility of it being released to the public it will be a paid DLC. You won’t get it free. And it will not happen until at the very least the year 1 anniversary of Predator Hunting Grounds if at all.
So, no need for anymore JH87 posts. If they do release JH87 they do, If they don’t they don’t. But, no need to constantly bash and harass them for it. If IllFonic has any intention of releasing it pestering them for it more may only make them delay it even longer just to be spiteful and prove a point of they will not be bullied into submission. But, there’s the pros and cons as well as my opinion on the matter, and the potential of release if at all, have a lovely day!
