This is quite the wall of text so be ready.
Please consider reducing the fireteam sprint speed, should be half that of the predator, and then gear you choose should effect your stamina. The fireteam is able to keep up with the Predator in both speed and stamina, even though the Predator is only carrying a few items while the fire team is carrying weapons, munitions, and gear. Increase the match time to 20 minutes to compensate for their reduced mobility, there should be no scenario where the fire team gets done with all the missions in 5 minutes, which you easily can with 2 recons and 2 supports. 2 supports keep Predator busy, and 2 recons do the mission with KNIVES!
Stamina for the fireteam regenerates extremely fast, if you are about to run out of stamina and are sprinting, I’ve found that if you slide, by the time you reach the end of your slide animation you have already gotten to half of your max stamina back, and by the time you stand up and start to sprint again, you are nearly full on stamina again. It should be scary to have to go down these long jungle paths to the next outpost, stamina should be used as a tool to induce suspense by way of managing it properly, like in The last of us multiplayer, F13 the game, etc.
Exhausted state doesn’t factor how the fireteam manages their stamina. The jump needs to be more taxing on the fire teams stamina, and so does parrying, jumping should tax 30% of your stamina, while parrying should tax 50% of your stamina. This way you don’t have the fireteam b-hopping around the Predator, I’m not sure if anyone knows this, but jumping seems to break out of the Predators “lock on” melee attacks, which is why you see people spamming to do it. Also, the exhausted state needs to be a serious penalty that the fireteam has to avoid, too often when playing the predator, when I run out of stamina, it’s a big deal, because the fire team hunts you down relentlessly, and if you exhausted yourself while you have second wind going, then it’s 9 times out of 10 gg, I don’t know why the rules don’t apply to the fireteam, when you hear them all huffing and puffing, that should be the opportune time to attack, and yet they are back to full stamina and ready to knife fight you almost instantly. Why should I be scared of the Predator if I can outrun him, chase him down, or outlast him in a fight?
Your knife should not be your first go to weapon against the A.I. or the Predator! Used to in FPS games, your melee attack was not what you built your whole create a class around, in PHG it seems to be the best way to fend off the Predator and the A.I. This should not be the case!
There should be 3 missions on each map, so that the Fireteam has to visit most if not all of the outposts on the map, allowing the Predator to set up motion detectors, audio decoys, and traps. How fun would it be to, at the start of the match, start setting up your traps and decoys, rather than sprinting to where you will meat the fireteam, playing as the Predator should be about strategy, surprise attacks, and a suspense! Speaking of Predator gear, please change the way the Predator uses his gear, if at all possible it would be better that the Predator have the ability to have the motion detector and audio decoy be deployed as if it were a plasma canon shot, aim at where you want it to stick and when you throw it, it sticks there! NOT BOUNCES OR HAS AN ARC BASED PROJECTILE PATH! this way you can place motion detectors in trees as well as audio decoys in trees and other cool places, the arc throw doesn’t go very far and at some point you can’t even see where you are going to throw it, if you are on a building for instance and want to throw it to the building on the other side of the outpost, why can’t the Predator aim it like a plasma canon shot and throw it to the surface you want it to stick to?!
The A.I. should do more damage to the fireteam than it currently is doing. When I play as the Predator and I see the fireteam fighting the A.I. I’m more scared of the A.I. at that point, because the second you decloak the entire A.I. units in the area focus fire on you and melt you along with the fireteam, and for some reason YOU DECLOAK WHEN MELEE ATTACKING WITH THE WRIST BLADES! I could see a balancing reason for decloaking while using the combistick, but using the wrist blades will decloak you, even when you use it to eat boar flesh!!! WHY!!! Why would you emphasize stealth for the Predator, when most of the game consists of you melee attacking targets, which decloaks you, so that the A.I. and fireteam both gang up on you! I would totally be ok with the A.I. focusing you if you were decloaked and in the middle of them and the fireteam trying to kill everything around you, but not only will the A.I. focus you if you decloak, but they will go through their “INVESTIGATE” mode if you recloak and try to evade, and the A.I. completely loses aggro on the fireteam at that point!
My last suggestion is for the sake of immersion. Please take away the interact progress icon, when you mud up, you should either try to mud up until the animation is finished, so you’ll know you’re completely mudded up, or make a decison on if waiting for that animation to finish is worth it. Most of the time I’ll catch a fire team member mudding up, and I’ll full charge a plasma canon shot on them, and yet they still sit there trying to mud up! The reason why they do this, is because they know they are almost finished completely mudding up, and being immune to thermal for the next “X” amount of time, before the next plasma shot can be let off, removing the interact progress icon will force them to consider, do I have time to finish this animation before taking another plasma shot or potential bow shot etc. Also, the mission interaction should have a first and third person animation, too often do I see the fireteam standing idly by a wall, or crate and I can’t tell, are they doing the mission, are they getting ammo, are they applying a medkit? A first and third person animation would not only add immersion, but it would also convey information to everyone what is going on! I want to see which fire team member is planting the c4 on the truck, or hacking the terminal, or grabbing first aid out of the map medkit, that lets me know who is and isn’t paying attention and ripe for the killing! I know alot can’t be done about the graphics, but animations added to interactions add so much flavor and information to the game.
Please allow the Predator to stay in cloak while using the wrist blades, and please make the Predator’s footsteps be quieter while cloaked. And please for the love of GOD don’t allow PC PLAYERS TO TURN SHADOWS TO LOW!!! IT BREAKS THE GAME AND ALLOWS THEM TO SEE YOU EVEN WHEN CLOAKED THE WHOLE TIME!!! IF PS4 HAS TO HAVE SHADOWS ON THERE IS NO REASON OR EXCUSE FOR PC PLAYERS TO BE ABLE TO TURN THEM OFF!!!
These are some hefty suggestions, but all I’m really asking for is some quality of life improvements, and some gameplay tweakage. Hopefully this gets implemented because I’m sure after reading this alot of people would hopefully agree to these changes, so that this game stops feeling like a janky arcade shooter, and more like a suspenseful, sci-fi, horror, survival shooter.
