Who agrees the Katana needs a buff? I just 1 v 1 a predator (hunter) on the roof with my little knife as FT. I had scout and thickskin with bane.
Is it possible to add a buff to katana or lower the parry chance? Would the game still be fun if, the knife doesnt parry EVERY time, you press parry at the right time?
Yep. Katana was okay due to that damage bug, without that its not worth anymore. Ghost with Alpha Sickle is the best for melee builds. Warrior with Sickle is great in 1v1s.
Melee in this game is just a meme in general. Damage and tracking. Ridiculous.
The katana does bleed damage even if parried. I think it’s melee system that needs a rework.
Like I mentioned in my post about lag, the tracking in predator melee needs to be buffed. The Elder Sword and Combistick have excellent tracking, and I think every melee weapon should track like the Combistick. Maybe then the other weapons wouldn’t be as bad as we think they are.

Elder sword and combi melee attack got a bigger range and area of effect so it helps a little in regards to tracking. But combi is so easy to parry.

Yeah they massacred the Katana, fair enough they wanted to nerf the stack damage for it but they messed up the weapons flow and combos, plus it does way too little damage now even with samurai using fearless and ghost. Give it a slight damage boost so its closer to sickle and sort the pattern on the weapon too.
Katana was OP until recently and everyone was abusing that shit.

As always people want to buff the way people kill in this game like 80% of times with 0 skill. Yes, I am referring to melee. Try playing fireteam in randoms from time to time and see how many people die to melee. I’ve lost count in just the few games I’ve played since the last update when not only predators killed people in melee but forced a claim with the second wind (trade). Melee is by far the most used thing in this game by predators. BY FAR! Also the worse the predator is, the more he is going to need to melee since melee is so damn easy to use against the VAST majority of people in this game, more so on PS.
If tracking would be improved, there would be no point in playing this game unless you are part of a premade team with skilled people, like none. You try using just parry against an elder sword or Sickle. You are DEAD if you don’t abuse the tracking in random games with those 2 weapons.
all melee weapons for pred are viable in 1v1 scenarios. If you want to jump in to face a few FT with melee, fuck off. Or buff syrettes so they instantly heal instead of taking 5 seconds.
Otherwise you will force everybody to run support with thick skin so they don’t get melted in 3 hits.
This. Aaaallllll of this. 90% of Preds I face in randoms fight melee, usually with the Sickle or Combi, and they wreck hard. I prefer it, honestly, because my playstyle is using other players as bait so when the Pred jumps in its melting time. Its better than plasma spammers, in my opinion. I hate Preds that just sit in a tree and spam spam spam spam spam. Even Elder Stalkers, because at least when I run that class, I mix it up.
