The leap smash drops about half even a support’s health. What are you talking about it doesn’t do much damage? Lol. And the mostly blind and slow effector has even with your momentary pause after the smash is enough for you to lunge out with your claws to down him and/or finish the job. I know how powerful that shit can be as I use it fairly often and have seen it used on me plenty of times. I think I know about exactly how much damage it does thank you.
If you think that was the argument I was making that would be because you missed the entire point of what I was saying. I was merely demonstrating the double standard here. No I obviously don’t think the Predator has too much at their disposal nor do I feel the Fireteam does. Well the Predator can it be gets those pig spawns were 6-8 pigs spawn in the same square yard and he kills them all and more appear there, that is pretty balls but that is more spawn logic than anything and it should be corrected.
But let’s try to tone this down and try to be a bit more calm about this. Let’s say worst case scenario: Full support team running gear head with medkits, syringes, ammo bags. They are at least competent and sticking close together. How do you deal with it? Well throwing the combistick you can shave most of their health off, smart disc if you are decent with it, charged PC shot and charged bow especially with headshot. That forces them to use a syringe or throw a medkit down. If they throw a medkit down and you have line of fire you charge a PC shot while they are healing and target the medkit and boom. You destroy the medkit and down the support, jump in, quick claim, jump out before anyone’s the wiser. Or you can smash him. If he uses a syringe you are more or less back to square one but they are gonna try to use medkits if you aren’t right on them so they can save those in close encounters. Yeah it is a bit of an uphill battle but it ultimately comes down to how the combat engagements pan out. It’s not terribly difficult to chip away at their health items but given that volume it could be an exhausting ordeal and if you are being particularly aggressive then Fireteams tend to linger in places even after completing that objective. At that point it is largely about pressure and opportunity, punishing mistakes or forcing their hands. They won’t be able to reach the next objective as easily so that also provides opportunity and if they take damage there they have to use their syringes or risk the medkit being used against them.
I am not saying it is easy or that it doesn’t put you at a disadvantage if you face a Fireteam like that and they aren’t bumbling retards. It does take longer to down them if you don’t get good shots in from afar or good spear throws in short range but there are still counters to it and weaknesses you can exploit because of that composition. They typically tend to use mini guns and RPD’s although not always which means they are gonna consume a lot more ammunition more quickly. It is pretty circumstantial but ultimately I see fairly few supports and even less so people running gearhead.
The support can be a pain in the ass and maybe there is room for more tweaking and fixes but the change you proposed is a bridge too far.
