Knife fix idea

Ok, knife is OP. Those of us that are sane, logical, and reasonable can all agree on that…

Heres my thoughts for the fix.

One. Keep the ability to Parry because its a good defense against Melee.

Two. Greatly reduce damage. Theres no reason why the knife should be doing more damage that a 5.56 round. Or even a 9mm round… i think we can all agree that guns/getting shot it WAY WORSE than getting slashed.

Three. Get rid of Knife movement speed boost.

There, now knife is a DEFENSE WEAPON. And not the equivalent of a rocket launcher… lol

I would also add that parrying with knife needs to cost stamina. The amount of juking, jumping, and parrying that I can do is ridiculous. I’ve outplayed so many preds with it.

A 600 hundred pound sentient killing machine of pure skull ripping muscle doesnt sapp all my stamina when I somehow parry its weapon, then its obvious to me that the fireteam are actually descendant of the greek gods.

Keep the Parry ability but depending on Predator’s melee Weapon the knife will take some damage as an object and the human loses some of it’s stamina and it will:
Knife vs Claws = able to parry, loses 25% stamina per parry, can be used 3 times before destroyed.
Knife vs Sword = able to parry, takes 50% stamina per parry can be used 2 times before destroyed.
Knife vs Club = one time parry, takes 75% stamina and human takes only 25% of the damage BUT after the parry the knife cannot be used again only for cutting the net.
Knife vs Combistick = Unable to parry

And loosing the knife means that later in the game if the Predator nets you down, you can’t escape by yourself, the other teammates need to cut the net for you.

Knife damage should be reduced but it should deal a little bit more damage as a bonus in case it is used from the back. If used from the front the Predator should be also able to parry the attack.

That’s actually a great idea. I’ve been pushing to remove the stun and allow some damage pass through, but that’s definitely another really practical solution. I mean, parrying an attack from a Predator would be pretty exhausting…I like it.

I had a similar idea, and I like it because it gives the Predator a reason to examine the other weapon options.

I’d say both the combistick and the club shouldn’t be parried, and the club should have more damage pass through. I’d also like the devs to look at weapon speed and travel.

Personally I’d don’t like the idea of the player knife breaking, but I’d like to remove the stun effect the parry has, and I do like the idea of the Parry costing Stamina. If the stun is kept in I’d say the stamina cost needs to be much higher. In addition, certain weapons should have damage pass through. Especially something like the club.

Good ideas here though.

I dont feel bad about them doing their knife(if it breaks). We lose out mask all the time… lol

Thank you, I am a Predator for life player but I like playing Human as well, and indeed it gets very frustrating when that happens when playing a Predator.
Also a knife to the Predator’s throat can kill it none the less. (But that is another story) ;P

I think warblade would make sense if you want something to not be parried combi stick def needs parried because berserker rush makes fireteams sad pandas and it makes sense.
One playstyle cannot be expected to take down every fireteam adapt i think parry should involve skill though not just spam and there you go it should take proper timing.
