Kudos to PS4/PS5 players

I got a PS5 for some time now and given the lack of exclusives I decided to give PHG a go.

Holy crap is it HARD to play !

General features: runs in the 30 fps range even with unlocked fps mode turned on. Constant frame drops

As FT:

  • super difficult spotting with that awkward button on the direction pad. Basically you can’t move and spot at the same time (you use thumb for both actions)

  • shooting with a controller is just nightmare mode on

  • movement is generally clunky

As Pred:

Situation here is somehow better. The main hindrance is not being able to change weapons quickly.
Target isolation has the same problem as spotting with FT, you just cant run and target isolate at the same time.

Conclusion:

KUDOS to the terrific PS4/PS5 players I met in my 2100 hours of play on Epic account, both as FT or Pred, you rock guys!

Surely I have to get used to it, but coming from a gaming PC with all the bells and whistles… well it’s a traumatic experience.

Crossing over: phg. It is an interesting experience and not something words can explain without having to go though it yourself. Pretty soon you’ll be calling PC players ‘cheaters’ too 😂

Try cranking your sensitivity up, it helps a little aiming.

Pred movements on controller are so much more fluid and just overall easier.

As far as 30fps I definitely don’t have that problem on PS5, PS4 yeah I used to have some wicked frame rate drops but not since I’ve upgraded.

I got a PS5… is there any way of measuring the FPS?

I play on PS5 and I have to say the real kudos go to the great PS4 players. I didn’t really notice much difference going from PS4 to PS5 but I recently played again on PS4 for a few days and it just runs so badly in comparison.

Why’d you leave my domain mello? Come back to the slow jet engine that is the PS4. We have….well… no benefits just bullshit all the way down.

Personally I’ve found keeping the sensitivity down to at least 1.6 is best instead of max but that’s just me as I’m finally aiming instead of just blind firing at anything that moves. Thing is though for pred you’ll want to switch that back to max otherwise the disc is borderline useless.

It’s just a visual thing for me. I imagine if I hooked it to a PC monitor maybe i could measure but there is a visible difference. Hang on let me demonstrate…

In the meantime I’ll make do with what I got, ask @Cadillackid though I’ve actually improved my aim and have just been wrecking preds with scout rushdown.

It’s all preference really but usually PC players are used to that cursor speed so cranking it up and then stepping down in small increments will work best to find that sweet spot

Wow.

Sad thing is that ps4 video is nowhere near as bad as it gets. It truly turns into a sideshow sometimes depending on map and AI.

I noticed when I first started recording and posting vids when the frame rate dropped that bad it would skip in the recording. Literally just fast forward over it so I couldn’t actually get proof of how bad it was anyway

On ps5 it’s definitely not 30fps. It’s pretty smooth.

I got a PS4 for exclusives. For Ghost of Tutshima I had to use those things meant for people with handicap (or whatever) to use the bow, yes, I am that bad with a controller :D

My last console was the PS3 and I don’t plan on ever going back to an outdated system. If you love controller so much, guess what, you can use controllers on PC. As far as exclusives go, meh…there is plenty of variety on PC to make me want to get a console for one or two games.

@Mr_Mojo_Rising To All us PlayStation players it just feels natural for us to play on console. I’ve been on console for 20 years. It’s all about preference and what you enjoy most. Just as is you PC players prefer PC. Us console players prefer console in every way regardless of flaws. If you ever want to run a few Friendly’s add Me on psn. VENOMxOFxGOD. Happy Hunting !
