This was talked about forever ago in Lazycollinator’s megathread he bumped forever and people still missed it lol

Not as a perk but as a use for pistols because they have no purpose.

I think it makes sense as a perk, but I also think it makes sense not as a perk also.

Yeah, it makes perfect sense as a Perk.
I included it in my list, but I called it “Down, not Out.”
“Last Stand” is probably better actually, haha :)

This is a great concept but I think being able to use a pistol wile down should be something everyone has by default.

Now you could introduce a perk that would give you an extra magazines worth of ammunition for your pistol wile down. Another perk idea would be you do a small bit of extra damage wile your bleeding out

Yeah no can do unless you’re going to nerf weapons in general.

Ok I hipfire AK at the pred, swap to my secondary extended mag smg pew pew pew assuming I can’t aim for shit and somehow the preds not down by now I then unload the entire pistol mag because I guess its not easy enough to solo the pred give me 3 guns.
Now multiply times 4.
You get to empty an extended mag smg into the pred and then clean up with the pistol solo from the ground if he stays at 0 loss to you whatsoever.

The point wasn’t to make downed players lethal at no cost it was just to give people reasons to take small handguns over shit like the magnum that are pocket snipers because they’re otherwise useless. Creating a guaranteed scenario where the pred ALSO has to hide from dying players line of sight every match lest he be downed by 3 people crawling around on the ground is just sad.

Sure having 3 guns would possibly unbalanced the game from the start, but it would give the predator MORE reason to rip your head off instead of focusing on your team.
If Pred ignores you wile your down to go after your buddies you get a chance to punish them, instead of you just waiting for something to happen

And also you turn pretty slowly wile your down so a good Pred player would likely approach you from behind, like they already do for the mini-gun

He’s not ignoring you though you are still there as a pistol-wielding member of the FT for like 30 seconds unless he starts hitting you and that still doesn’t stop you from shooting back. Its just even more guaranteed damage at no loss if everyone gets a pistol while downed.

He’s SUPPOSED to be focusing on your team. You are downed, they are not & that’s the point. Otherwise its just guaranteed punishing the pred for downing people in general regardless of their perks.
It’s about giving pistols a niche for area denial while downed not getting to take 3 different weapons. You have to pick between having your cake and eating it not just make all downed players lethal by default while they also slot gearhead and Bane

I really like this idea. It pretty much makes running Pistols for newer players useful while also being potentially Meta and Gameplay Changing for FT and Predator. It reinforces only taking Short/Long Claims only when it’s safe (like 1 other FT is around or just no one if you’re that concerned.) For FT, it gives them a fighting chance even if only for a second, like how Predator has Second Wind.

Also pretty much introduces new strategies with running 2XL or other Pistols in place of other Secondary Weapons. Looking at you Mini-Gun users.

As for Perk’s Cost? I’d say make it a 2 Point Perk instead of 1. It’d be a commitment, but if you can actually place your shots, worth it.

Maybe I’m just still irritated from when I got the Pred into second wind wile my team were all down, but the Pred also managed to down me at the same time

Been there, I just take a “wow my team sucks” approach once we get to the end screen and pubs can’t manage 500 dmg on a pred using katana.

I think mine happened sometime before the level cap was increase. It was a zerker cimb combo

You ever take photos of your DMG results after matches with Pubs?

Nonething says carried like a 3000+ with 500s or even less along with ya.

I’d like the last stand mechanic to not cost any thing but understand it could change the balance even if slightly.

If it is a perk, I’d be fine with it though.

I suggested this like the first week the game came out. I like the idea as a last chance to survive. No garauntee though that will happen but it beats crawling faster.

Ditto.

The Shuffler perk which allows faster crawling movement while downed is literally the most useless perk in the game.

At least Sludge Blood gives team mates longer opportunities to control a fire fight and revive you.

I almost think a Last Stand perk could replace Suffler perk.

Explain how this works? Ive not used it, i’m assume when FT bleeds out…like I don’t know what that means. Katana is the only thing that has an after effect which bleeds you after the cuts are made. But not with other pred weapons.
Definition:
Sludge Blood - Extends the time before you bleed out.

When player is downed and crawling around, there’s a red meter that’s got a limited time-limit. As the meter ticks away you’re bleeding🩸 until a teammate comes up and revives you by rendering first aid.

Sludge Blood perk extends the duration it takes for you to bleed out, so you can survive longer while downed. This gives teammates more time to rescue you before dying.

I wonder if Sludge Blood impacts bleed affect from Katana?

Oh I think i get it. So in the beginning when you’re downed it pauses the meter bar a little while before it starts depleting.
