There have been quite a few threads about nerfing or even removing the spotting mechanic. But not many threads on simply altering the mechanic. In a team based game where you can play with random people I think it is important to be able to quickly communicate to your team where you saw the Predator. This is already in the game however spotting the predator tracks his movements for 2-6 seconds (depending on classes and perks). This is my main issue. The eye icon alone is nearly enough to be able to communicate where the Predator is/was however it does not fade when looked at and obscures the players vision.
I would like to see only the eye icon and not the highlighted Predator with tracking but the Eye Icon simply fading away when you look at it in iron sights to remove it obscuring vision. Perhaps also instead of highlighting the Predator it simply has an outline of where the Predator was standing and does not track the Predator. I truly think that the current implementation of the spotting mechanic goes against the fundamental theme of a Predator stalking his prey and it makes stealth almost pointless.
Many also want a buff to the Predator and I agree with this however I think the Predators damage dealing and their health pool is fine but the entire point of him being a stealth based hunter is near non existent in the game. The removal of spotting or a change of its mechanic will both help the games theme and act as a buff for the Predator at the same time making stealth a more viable option for the Predator player.
As a side note I also believe the Predators cloak needs to be changed as it is far too easy to see and in my Predator games I find I barely even use the cloak anymore as it appears to be easier to simply hide in the bushes without cloak than to cloak and move around the map. For a bit of emphasis on just how bad the cloak is when the game released I had eye surgery and had an entire week and a half of completely blurred vision in my right (and dominant) eye. I could not even read with it even if the letters were massive and yet I still had no issue at all seeing the Predator cloaked despite 50% of my vision being compromised.
