FIRETEAM:
-
Obvious, but you can mud up to prevent the Predator from seeing you in thermal vision. This does not make you invisible to it, just really hard to see, but it is enough to fool a reliant Yautja and give you an advantage
-
Knife is your best friend against the Predator that wants to melee you. You can parry his attacks with a well-timed button hit (on PC it’s V right before he tries to melee you) which will leave him stunned for ~1 second, enough time for you to slash him, or for your teammates to pump him with lead.
-
You can use voicechat to communicate with your teammates. But remember that a Predator in the viscinity can hear what you are saying too.
-
If a Predator downs your teammate, he is more than likely to try and quick-claim him on the spot. You can’t save your teammate, but the best you can do is make the Predator (who is now locked in an animation) pay with his health for this.
-
You can respawn dead teammates using a reinforcement radio. After you get to it and activate it, wait for a short time, and your teammates will respawn right next to you. Be aware that this can only be used ONCE per match.
YAUTJA:
-
While uncloaked, you can be seen by enemies but do not chirp. While cloaked, you are COMPLETELY INVISIBLE while STAYING STILL, but you will periodically chirp.
-
When switching to thermal vision, the Fireteam can hear this.
-
You can restore your health by using a medkit (of which you have a limited supply of 2). However, you can also find a boar in the jungle and eat him to restore HP too. Aside from the obvious “look for one when you want to eat him”, you can also hear a boar when using your thermal vision. Sadly, you need to watch the original Predator (1987) film to know what kind of sound it makes when you are in thermal vision. Best hint I can give you is that it sounds like a baby squealing gone through a synthesizer.
-
Fireteam members have limited amount of times they can go down until they die outright. Be aware of this if you plan to long-claim them, or exploit this to wear the Fireteam down.
-
You can charge your plasma caster shot for bigger splash and damage. Be aware that this takes time, it will consume a lot of your energy and that the Fireteam can see your laser aiming at them. Hide it by aiming somewhere the Fireteam won’t see, and then flick it to blow someone up. Do not try and charge your shot when the Fireteam is looking at you.
-
You can destroy the Fireteam’s supplies in the world. This includes ammo crates and medkits. Do this to starve the Fireteam of supplies in the long run. You can also shoot explosive barrels and propane tanks that the Fireteam may stand too close to.
-
You can ground slam when you leap. This will consume ALL of your energy, leave you locked in an animation for a short time after landing, but it will deal AoE damage to the Fireteam and disable weapons for anyone hit with it.
-
Second Wind (the thing that activates when you lose all your health) recharges. Use this knowledge to not die immedeatly after proccing it.
