Looks like I'm one of the few who are genuinely enjoying themselves

Just looking through the forum posts and it’s a swamp of negativity. Like I was expecting some discussion here and there and the usual harsh words but it seriously looks like all the posts I read are of people having the worst time with the game and hanging Illfonic on the cross, whilst I’m having the time of my life!

My wait times have been average at 1min fot a FT game and 3mins for a Pred game, I’ve always felt like it’s a fair balance on both sides except for 4 PC FT members with their pinpoint tracking, lol, and I’ve had good games against decent players for both sides!

Maybe I’ve just been the luckiest man alive and got all the best matches in my 52 levels of playing? I dunno, but either way I do hope that any issues that have been had are looked into and are tweaked and fixed so that more people can enjoy what we have!

Personally been enjoying myself a lot as well with both Predator and Fireteam. Had a few decent 4 v 1 matches as the Predator but by far I enjoy 3 v 1s more as I feel that’s more balanced overall, love 3 v 1 as I always feel it can go either way. 4 v 1 seems to factor in a lot more than just skill of each party, like mission type, weapon and perk match ups, etc 3 v 1 seems a bit more focused on Predator vs Fireteam effectiveness overall, with perks and weapons giving an edge in different ways which is how it should be imo. Playing as the Predator is a lot of fun if you don’t go in expecting to be killing everyone on the opposite team 90% of the time.

Just a quick side note I do find that some Predator weapons are straight up useless in 4 v 1, like the hand plasma or warclub which does dampen the fun of using lots of Predator loadouts. And a lot of perks are useless overall on both sides but even so I still enjoy it.

Sure the game has rough edges and it’s unplayable for Fireteam in a 1 v 1 or 2 v 1 which needs addressing but the majority of the time I have a lot of fun. I do feel the Predator needs to be scaled depending on how many Fireteam members there are and I have a lot of things I wish they put in the game to make it more fun / dynamic overall but it’s still imo a good game. Not a great game but definitely a good game.

People expected to be able to get into a game and instantly dominate as the Predator, forgetting this isn’t Dead by Daylight and your opponents are well armed, well trained soldiers. People just don’t want to take the time to get better, so they instantly call for nerfs or buffs. I will say Iv been getting my ass kicked by the FT for the last few days, but I’m not ready to say if it’s my lack of skill or some imbalance. There’s still items and perks Iv yet to unlock.

Yeah, before any nerfs/buffs are performed, I want people to be out on the hunting grounds for a week at least. Let everyone unlock stuff, find their preferred method of play, see how others play, and then start looking at how it needs balance.

Asking for a buff or nerf less than 24 hours after the games launch just feels like people who expected to be able to do one thing, but haven’t layed enough to pull it off.

I am enjoying the game both as predator and fireteam.

Glad to see I’m not the only one ^_^

The thing is people play more as Fireteam and it’s a more traditional FPS style of play which most people are already used to AND good at so of course it’s going to be easier to play.

Predator is a completely different style of play and personally I don’t think melee or certain other weapons need a buff (except the one’s I’ve mentioned). At most I think that the Hunter and Scout need another bar of health when facing off against 4 v 1 (I haven’t played Berserker yet so I don’t want to say they need it as well yet) but that’s mainly a scaling thing rather than a flat buff which I think should differ depending on Fireteam size so you can effectively have a 2 v 1 or 1 v 1.

And of course there are going to be buffs and nerfs that need doing eventually but not 24 hours into launch, they already tweaked the balancing of certain weapons in the patch notes on release so it’s something they’re not opposed to doing obviously. For games like this it’s a long process of trial and error that comes over months of tweaking and game play changes. For now, yes more weapons and perks are going to be a bit broken and OP but at this moment in time it’s hard to tell if it’s a skill based thing or a balancing issue. Ultimately it’ll end up being a bit of both I reckon.

Yea I’m not saying buffs or nerfs aren’t needed and it’s very possible all the ppl saying the Predator is extremely weak are right, I’m just saying there’s not enough data right now to make that call. I think if anything needs to be changes right now, it’s more along the lines of FT mission structure rather than any major nerfs or the like.

People asked for buffs and nerfs immediately with F13 and then kept asking for more. It ruined the game. Hopefully IllFonic ignores these people and just makes the game they want, unlike what F13 turned into.

I’m glade you two are able to play you wouldn’t happen to work for the company would you because you must have exclusive access to be able to give such an in-depth evaluation of the game when the rest of us haven’t been able to play one game since launch because we are in a lobby!!

I’m enjoying the game, yes I would say the Predator needs some more balancing, not because “Jesus, the Predator is WEAK!” or “OMG the Predator is too overpower” but because he does have some problems in his kit.
-Scout should be slightly faster and his attacks should be faster, I feel like he too vulnerable and some of the current weapons aren’t meant to him;
-Melee weapons should be balanced, Warclub should deal more damage, sword should be faster;
-Smart disc and Bow damage should checked;
-Melee attacks should be able to peform while in movement, and it’s tracking improved

But I would say the Predator feels pretty good to play as, Berserker being my favorite.

I love the game, I even made a short review on the discussion forum.
It needs work, surely, but it’s gotten better.

I’m so glad that I’m not ALONE in really enjoying this game. With that being said yes it may need a few minor tweaks , but my nephews and brother in law and i have been absolutely been having a blast… No pun intended… We love playing as the fireteam and trying to all escape safely… And yes we have run into some good predators and some not so good,but great fun non the less.

Game is fun but the Matchmaker and or Server issues need to be addresed and fixed ASAP! I’m having to wait sometimes 20 minutes to play one game. That is pretty bad, it’s not on my end either. What happens is if someone fails to load in during the placement it seems to almost break the lobby completely and cause everyone to wait till they load in or sometimes they just never load in and run the placement timer all the way down.

Currently playing in a full squad atm.

Every game we’ve played we’ve killed the predator because we just parry and knife the shit out him.

It’s that easy, the predator is underpowered and is more of a hinderance than he is a threat.

Especially considering the predator can’t do anything to stop the parry.

I’m glad you’ve found enjoyment out of the game, but that doesn’t mean others cannot voice their concerns.

Honestly man I’m right there with you. Queues for me have gotten better. Still below par, of course, but I think it’s proof that they’re chipping away at it.

Enough changes were done on PC since the beta that it makes me happier. I’m just really eager and anxious to see what they have planned for future content.

We can expect various nerfs, buffs, and adjustments in the future. Right now matchmaking just needs to be at 100%.

I reaaaaaaally hope we get a roadmap at some point. Sounds ridiculous to even think about as the game released yesterday, but I’m excited about the possibilities. Especially with how they originally paved out F13’s content.

nop i love it too its just that predator needs buff

The game has a tonne of problems but thats absolutely to be expected but I’m still having lots of fun

Definitely enjoying it myself too. There’s certainly some issues, but I am fully aware of the difficulties of working from home, and that the majority of games encounter day 1 difficulties, so I’m not going to start screaming about the game. Just enjoying the game, getting in plenty of private games, and waiting for news of updates. :)

I’m having fun, grind to 100 already, it just takes time to find the game, that’s the bad part
