Lore perspective and a bit of fear

So i finaly finished to collect every damn OWLF recording and i listened to them all until particulary got my attention the number 10 when Keyes exprimate is perplexety and confusion on how such an advanced species like the predator could be a tribal society compared to humanity who have abandoned all of that when we evolved. and have make the theory that perhaps another species was responsable for their technology.

Not gonna lie i hope this not some dumb foreshadowing because that sound a lot too much like the predator novel from Dark horse, Predator midnigth. for those who donā€™t know that novel (who is considered for good reason the worst of the entire predator franchise) who portrayed the yautja race
and even renamed them Hish-qu-Ten those who take territory turning their society into Brutes, and bloodthirsty races controled by an organ that they have call the kil gland and if not controled by some drugs or medicine turn them into mindless killer who kill everything around them just for ā€œpleaseā€ this damn organ also they make more sex jokes than most of the human cast the book, and interestingly canā€™t take care of their technology on their own as they use slave race named amongi (insect creatures) for take cares of that. i guess for most of you now understand why iā€™m starting to feel uneasy about that and feel like the predator hunting ground lore is going in that direction. i know that Neca (the toy line for predator) have canonisez the Hish-qu-Ten as the Yautja ancestor/sub species that are less inteligent and see as a joke by other pred clan. but i just hope that illfonic will not go with that kind of lore for our dear Yautja. again its my thougth and my theory. and you guys? what do you think?

I doubt it. I always believed they were just a very traditional conservative species

I hope they dont go down that road. I have read about the hish-qu-ten, admittedly Iā€™ve never read the comic but it seems to be proto-lore from before certain things were adopted as ā€œcannonā€.

For instance the hish dont have females, males and females are indistinguishable and go through cycles where they change sex like toads or frogs.

This hasnt been accepted by this continuity as we have female Yautja.

I think they might be hinting at the engineers here from aliens lore, although I donā€™t think they will cross into aliens territory officially to please both AVP fans and predator/aliens purists alike who would like to see both franchises permanently divorced.

Obviously the existence of the aliens tie-in is now seriously in question as both franchises have kind of gone their own ways and ret-conned each otherā€¦

But 20th century is now owned by disney so who knows what the plan is (if any).

Worst case scenario they end up in the next avengers movie šŸ˜‚šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

I imagine that AVP will be used loosely. Mostly so they can bring in Wolf as he is loved. And maybe a trophy relating to the aliens. Maybe even an attic pyramid map, but without aliens.

Erg I hope they wont finish in the marvel franchise it would be terrible but with disney buying the two franchise its not really clear, and AVP is out of the question since Ridley scott is still around protecting the baby that as the alien franchise byā€¦making it more shity

Ridley Scott for some reason hates the predator franchise.

Now fair enough the people who made the AVP films didnā€™t do a good job. But to be honest the major cause of offence was the misrepresentation of the predator.

Aliens wellā€¦ they have a queen they reproduce, are disgustingly insect like and kill everyone. You cant go wrong they did what they have always done.

But in my opinion they just werenā€™t the bad ass hunters they could have been. Not like the first film which was amazing.

Wolf was ok in AVP2, but Scar was a bit shit as were his mates (Falconer and Celtic was it?)

Ridley should have took the whole thing under his wing and made them both as awesome, creepy and dangerous as he could. He had a great foundation to work with on both franchises.

Maybe even took the human element out completely and made the movie from the perspective of the Predators, with humans as 3rd party secondary characters.

Instead he gave us DAVID.
