One thing that low graphics helps predators is finding FT in the foliage as they will stick out like a sore thumb no matter if they hide in the bushes or not. From the FT perspective I honestly find it a lot harder to see the predator’s blur as everything is so saturated. Shame about the extra frames but oh well.
Low graphics settings & Predator sound
there’s something wrong there. I can get 140+ fps on low
it doesn’t help FT, it helps, if anything, pred
Or is FT able to climb on trees and look down for a crouching cloakced pred hifing in the bushes?
I mean I still can get around 100+ fps on epic, but same on low. The game engine doesn’t use all the gpu at low settings. I’ll try to post a video.
It’s like the Lego Marvel my kids like to play on my pc and only get around 150fps but the gpu and cpu usage remains below 20%
Some games just don’t use all of your hardware potential.
You have to set the gamma low and it’s way better. Also, make sure your monitor is calibrated to where you can see the entire rgb gradient.
It just depends on the game, but this game in particular, if you set the framerate to “unlimited” it will climb the GPU usage to 100% all the time, except in the mission briefing/lobby. Or at least that’s been the experience for everyone I’ve discussed the game performance.
Which, ironically, is part of the bad optimization. The game shouldn’t cap the GPU at 100% unless needed.
I play doom eternal at 144FPS constant and my GPU usage never climbs over 80%
Nonsense.
Or do you want to tell me, that you see no difference between finding a target, let’s say a bird, in a winter deciduous forest compared to in a summer deciduous forest? You obviously can see farther in former too. A good thing for snipers.
Btw, did you already try out your infrared view as predator? Quite easy to find a nearby FT with it.
Finding the other party is harder for both, FT as well as Predator, in a forest with a huge amount of leaves. This really is nothing worth discussing.
Curious that you bring the perspective of a hunter seeking prey in a forest. So you either agree FT are the true hunters or low foliage helps the true hunter
In a fair comparison, how does it help a human swimming in the ocean spotting a great white shark a few meters away?
It’s unfortunate that illfonic didn’t set restrictions on crossplay that would require certain parameters to be met in order for PC players to play with console players. For example: equal field of view, equal graphics (textures, shadows, draw distance, etc.) equal max rotation speed, weapons balanced with assumption that macros will be used by PC players, etc…
At least crossplay is optional. 🤷♂️
Ideally you want your gpu to be above 95% usage. I mean, you wouldn’t buy a 3080 to get the performance of a 3070, would you?
Your fps should be dependent on your GPU performance, but unfortunately in so many games, it’s not. Why spend hundreds of dollars on a good GPU if it’s gonna sit at 50% usage.
forget sharks, beware the yellow duck…
On phg with a 2080 I think I’m hovering around 90 to 140 it fluctuates a lot. Cpu is 5800x.
Ok, but which settings? I get 96% usage on epic and cinematic, but on low I get shit gpu usage.
In computing, is called efficiency. Is there for when you need it, but it doesn’t mean is going to be used all the time. Take for example CPU usage. Rarely any games use 100% cpu, but upgrading to a CPU with faster cores yields better performance. Because framerate is not always dependent on CPU/GPU usage, but how fast the clocks are.
That’s why a 3060 now, performs better than a 1080Ti, even though they have the same amount of cores.
what rez are you playing at? 1080, 1440 or 4K?
This is my benchmark in the menus. All low settings, unlimited framerate @1440P using Gsync
1080p, I thought could be cpu bottleneck, but I monitor all the cores and none ever reach 100% or even close.
Could be an Nvidia setting though. I disabled the Power efficiency on mine and lock the core clock to the maximum “boost” value and that gives me somewhat a more stable FPS, still dips, but not as bad as going from 150 to 40
Now set in on the lowest setting and watch how ingame (not menu) you’ll get bad gpu usage.
Everything is set on max performance on mine, I want my shit to catch on fire.
Never happened before, but I’ll try
On the CPU side, my old 3770K never went above 60% usage.
When I upgraded to the 10700K usage is between 20-30%, but I got like a 30 FPS+ boost in performance compared to the old mobo+cpu+ram
