well to be fair netgun/bear traps are probably the most overpowered thing in the game atm as one lets predator guarentee wins in 1v1’s in some cases 1v2s or more
and the other is if a FT trips it there dead assuming the predator has LOS on him

Yes they are the best tools in my opinion with the bow. Tho I dont play net gun anymore as I consider them ulesss against good FT team I prefer sniping with bow and using the elder sword
Secondaries are more for use against NPC’s… with that said the Shotguns are superior at dealing with bots. The SMG’s require a nearly whole mag to actually kill a regular grunt, shotgun one taps them.
I run the middle Pistol so I don’t really have a gun in this argument.

Now I play only elders now and I nearly play him distance I only girls melee when the Ft are packed after some good plasma shot or bow shot in the face.
SMGs at close range can kill just as fast as the rifles, it’s not really about using one against AI, that’s preference, but players should be swapping weapons in combat. You dump your mag into a pred with your main weapon, don’t reload, swap to your seondary SMG and unload, it’s faster than reloading your rifle.
If I’m close enough to matter I just knife them to death.
Not that I’m arguing, cause it’s a preference thing but as a handgun user, shooting the Pred with my Colt rip off isn’t going to do much. Better to just stab, reload or tap down on my d-pad and give him a face full of boom.
PS, I do sometimes shoot Pred’s with the pistol, but mostly just for giggles. I know I shouldn’t poke the 7 foot killing machine… but it’s in my nature.
I rather not get within range or a pred that he can just slash and down me quick, but a pistol works great especially when you unload a mag in its face to do the extra damage. If you play assault class your pistol also gains bonus damage. The colt does nice damage up close especially for head shots and if you add in any bonus damage perks.
Same applies to SMG, the damage they do at the fast fire rate eats pred life bars super fast, I’ve downed many preds who decide to make the mistake of claiming a trophy by running up to them an unloading entire smg mag into their face.
Quiet frankly your solution sounds like a win getting 200xp…and thats it. Doesn’t sound like your loadout puts up with much of a fight. Sadly, either you get matched with a underpowered, casual playing PS Pred or you’ll just go down without a fight. I’d prefer to play with more experienced Keyboard/mouse PC players than PS players with a low powered pistol and smg.

I play the weakest class, and don’t run meta weapons. I still kill Pred’s. I don’t need the best weapons and if you read my first post, you’d realize that the argument I offered was in defence of shotguns as a better way to deal with bots.
If your offering to buy me a PC, sure but until then I’m happy with my PS4 (and soon 5).
I am aware, it makes me very angry that the more useful Class skill that was the Scouts was transferred to Assault.
Yea I used to main Scout myself and I used nothing but SMGs as my main cause the bonus damage + smg fire rate and the bane perk, you just shred preds apart up close. I constantly was running right at the preds since scouts were fastest and best perks. I was bummed they gave the perk to assaults
It’s still a fun class, but I don’t find the class skills useful.
I’ve levelled the SMG’s all up to elite so I have used them. I like having a pistol in my holster though.
