Map ideas

If you guys ever release more maps to play on, something that would be awesome to see is a map with either rainy or foggy weather conditions. The weather would make it more challenging for both parties. Rain would wash mud off quicker and reduce body heat signatures while the predator’s cloaking works less efficiently due to the water, like it should since the cloaking malfunctioned in the movie when it emerged from the water. The rain would also reduce normal visibility for both teams. A foggy map could offer the predator an advantage by cloaking still working and not reducing the body heat signatures, but rather simply reducing normal visibility for both teams. The laser for the plasma caster should still be easily visible so there is still something to work off of as the fireteam regarding pin pointing the predator.
Another idea my fireteam and I thought would be cool is if the fireteam could set up traps like in the movie. Not necessarily log traps or anything, but rather trip wire or pit that would temporarily stun the predator. Or add claymores. These could all be used as gear options.

But for the love of god, please quit weakening things. Everything comes down to skill. If a player is bad with the predator and wants to run into direct fire to attack, that is their fault. Not the fireteam’s for working together. What is the logic behind certain weapons doing reduced damage at close range? It defies the laws of physics. That would be like weakening the combistick or smart disc’s damage when thrown at a nearby target.

One thing I thought was interesting was that the little bonfires at the harbour base actually burns you if you walk through them. If maybe you could pick up logs temporarily to set fire to them. Then you toss a dozen of them around making some sort of trail of heat. Basically that would mess with the predator in those foggy conditions. When his regular vision goes you just have sound or heat. and in the colder conditions with rain , it would make sense that the fire team doesn’t produce any heat whatsoever.

Rain, it seems, does not affect Predator camouflage. It is immersion in water that affects it (for example, like in real life, any gadgets - in the rain they remain operational, but if dropped into the water - they can be damaged).

In “AvP Requiem” (2007), for example, there is a scene in rainy weather at a store. There, the Predator Wolf appears in a store in his camouflage, and when it is discarded, it is clear that it is wet.

I don’t know the rest of the sources. If someone gives examples from comics / books confirming my assumptions or refuting - I will be glad.

I saw a comic of a predator who was hunting in a Louisiana bayou maybe that would be kind of a cool setting, still keeps the whole forest theme and would probably be easier to make than a city map.

Yeah, I remember that. But there’s gotta be a twist. The foggy conditions gives a better advantage to the predator by being harder see. Heavy rain would offer the fireteam an advantage by making the cloaking malfunction frequently. If it’s raining, it would be darker anyways, so it’s not like the predator will stand out that much when not cloaked. Like I said, it was just to even the different advantages offered to each side based on the map
