Hermaphrodites are real, and it’s just an abnormal chromosomal division in the gametes before conception that gives an extra X or Y. Granted, such genetic errors are exceedingly rare (less than 1/2000), but they do happen in both humans and animals.
And I worked as a microbiologist so I have the credentials to know this shit is actually real.
When I worked at a veterinary hospital we treated a hermaphrodite pitbull.
