So I was playing earlier and I didn’t say a word the whole time with my mic on. But apparently I immediately got spotted and slain.
I congratulated them on a quick win and was told when a predator has a mic they know the location immediately. They said it was a bug which makes sense as this has never happened before.

It works both ways. You can use the in game chat to your advantage. Give them false info.
Being in game chat doesnt get me killed like that, so idk what happened to you.
If you play with open mic, your name will appear on the top left when you’re close to the fireteam, so it can be used by them as a proximity warning. I’d recommend always using push to talk.
This also goes both way: using your mics as the fireteam will show noise bubbles, as if you were shooting your guns.

Occam’s razor says your mic has feedback. 1/20 games I’ll play a predator that has a screeching mic and it gives him away the whole time
It’s like they knew exactly where I was despite being hidden completely, and when I say completely I mean invisible and hiding behind a tree base. Or on top of a rock ledge quite a distance away like the one in overgrowth.
It’s like I was showing up on their map. Hasn’t happened since it’s the strangest thing. Honestly I wouldn’t of mind if they weren’t such twats talking shit to me and claiming u was doing it to them, but those guys left when I could speak to them and another guy was nice enough to explain what happened after u congratulated them.
I’ve come across fireteam players like that, thought they were just trying to be annoying lol
