Mission XP as Predator?

Moving this to bug report since other players are not experiencing this.

I’ve been playing for a while and am loving the gameplay! Super fun game! During this time though I’ve become curious as to how exactly XP is earned according to the “After Action Report”. Specifically the “Mission XP” category for the predator. Sometimes I earn points and sometimes I don’t. So my question is: How does the Predator earn mission xp? I assume it is just to eliminate the fire team? The predator gameplay guide in the extras menu suggests “adhere to the Yautja code” which I assume to be stealth, fair game, and trophy collection?

Anyway, here is a compilation of some various end results I have received:
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/624726002
Regardless of the gameplay in the video shouldn’t I earn something each match? Especially if claim all trophies? Not quite sure what to make of it. I earn some when I lose??? I don’t earn any when I win???

Interestingly at the 2:00 minute mark in that video some prey escaped and I earned the most mission xp I have seen yet???

Anyone notice this? Have any ideas? My theory is that you earn mission xp if you prevent the FT from completing objectives.

The problem with playing as Predator solo @xXbadbloodxX is that XP Options are severely limited. While we can potentially find an OWLF Tape, the only things we can do is hunt Boars and kill AI Grunts. And even when the Grunts pull an Alarm, there’s hardly any backup. Veritanium isn’t available either. You’re better off practicing Mobility and efficient Paths.

On the other hand, playing solo as a Fireteam Member has all of the Perks that playing with others has. Veritanium, AI Grunts and their Backup, Objective Completion and even Weapon Leveling are possible. You also don’t have to worry about queuing with a bunch of randos who’ll end up shooting the AI before you do. Or a Predator trying to claim your Skull.

Playing as a Fireteam Member solo is where it’s at, especially for Leveling up and Grinding Veritanium.

@Saikoro Sounds like you’re talking about HOW to level? I’m just curious how the xp points are calculated and distributed by the game. There’s no technical explanation (that I can find) about this. Seems like that would be important for players to know so they could level efficiently or even develop playstyles around it.

For fire team, it’s intuitive. Shoot things, find things, complete mission objectives.
For Predator, it’s not intuitive. The game tells you to just kill and abide the Yautja code… What does that technically mean?!
I’ve had many matches where my playstyle and kill count were roughly the same but one games earns me 12k xp the other earns me 6k (with usually 0 “Mission XP”)? Feels weird…

Of course, once you hit 100 none of this applies anymore…

Ah, I see what you mean @xXbadbloodxX. LOL at least I think I’m following you properly now

Off of the top of my head, Fireteam Oriented:

Objectives - 300 to 350xp (Activating the Exfil is the same amount, EG. 300xp when approaching and 50xp when the Pilot speaks). I’m not sure about when you rappel upwards though.

Mud Up - 15xp

Deactivate an Alarm Post - 25xp

Veritanium/OWLF Tapes - 15xp with each Collection

Headshots - 25xp

AI Kills - 15 to 20xp

Melee Kills - 40xp

Elite AI Grunt Kills - 40 to 50xp

Stealth Kills (I’ve seen this a literal few times in Derailed) - 50xp IIRC

Extra Objective - 100xp Upon Drop/50xp Per Collection [??]

Predator XP based off of Numbers I’ve seen flying off of the screen. Apologies if my info is off as it’s hard to focus on Numbers seen when being shot at by 4 People. And running Predator solo is practically useless anyway.

Fireteam Acquisition/Target Marking - 75xp each Target

Boar Feeding - 25xp per Boar

Healing Kit - 10xp upon use IIRC and 25xp after your Lifebar fills up

AI Grunt Kills - 5xp (Lower Ranks) to 40xp (Elites)

Bear Trap Activation - 20xp

Audio Decoy Activation - 25xp IIRC

Motion Detector, per Ping - 10xp

Combi-Stick Kills - 25xp

Combi-Stick AI Headshots - 50xp

Collecting your Combi-Stick back - 5xp

Melee/Wristblade Attacks - 10 to 15xp

Downing a Fireteam Member - 50xp

Short/Quick Claim - 50xp

Long Claim - I believe it’s 250 per kill, with 10xp per stab

Fireteam Stealth Kills - These are rare so I’m not 100% sure on this.
It is possible to Stealth kill an AI Grunt and I believe that’s 50xp

There’s a bunch more that I’m either forgetting or unaware of like Smart Disc Throws, Elder Sword Strikes, Bow Shots and Plasma Caster Shots. It’s hard to keep a focus going when you’re keeping 4 people in check. I also use the Net Gun and Combi-Stick by default.

One thing that is hard to gage is exactly how extra XP is acquired, especially when attempting to Level Up your Guns up from 01 to 10. We have the Hexagonal Visual Cue, but that’s it. For Weapons, the more Headshots the better as well as running any of the Maps solo since you can agro AI Grunts to trigger the Alarms, bringing in more AI to shoot for more XP. I’ve gotten upwards of 55 AI Kills solo where I earned all of the XP. In Matches with other Players, the one who scores the Kill gets the XP instead of one tagging and one finishing.

It’s also hard to say how the bonus XP and Veritanium are calculated. For instance, each Game as a Predator can give you anywhere between 200 to 350xp. The same goes for Fireteam Members but again, trying to calculate exact Numbers is difficult.

@Saikoro Wow very thorough thanks! Yet, these are gameplay xp points and/or kill points. Those make sense(ish). In the After Action Report, there is a category for mission xp:

which is almost always 0… This is what I’m mainly curious about. Is this a bug? Should this even be listed? If so, how is it earned?

I wouldn’t be surprised if that Mission XP wasn’t meant to be there. They probably had a template for that end game screen, changed the colours depending on whether player was FT or Predator, but they forgot to remove the Mission XP segment from the Predator players screen. If that makes sense.

Mission XP in hopes that there will be some objectives in other game modes. But i get your point. We will see in the near future.

@VENN7eance I thought about that being a possibility but sometimes I do receive mission xp. I just don’t know how or why.

No prob @xXbadbloodxX.

I’m pretty sure that those Icons are the summarization of what we earned all together throughout a Match. I think the only thing the Predator gets Mission wise is Tagging Fireteam Members and Claiming them.

Either way, there’s still a lot of questions regarding Bonus XP (We still don’t have total insight as to how we gain any of it, Especially Weapons). I wouldn’t hold our breath though since I’m sure Illfonic never released Friday the 13th XP Charts. Or did they?? I’m not sure.

Hey i been looking heavily into these issues aswell as im a roleplay pred main. The game play info in extras mentions “yautja skill modifiers” and to look into it but yet after researching this everywhere i can since trial release and to this day since full game release to no avail…however thru my own extensive testing both solo and with others im starting to piece it together .

Your "Mission XP " for predator is really Stalking XP.
Its those points your getting for being within very close proximity to a fireteam member undetected. Wether cloaked or not makes no difference. You will experience this as a continous stream of XP in the form of 10xp a second until you hit a ft member or shot by a ft member (causing you to be detected) at which point the XP flow immediately stops.

I find it hard to believe that thats the only calculation for mission xp for predator but if i find another besides stalking ill lyk.

I hope this clears things up a bit. Alot of people dont kno how to play the predator (or worse are simply trash) and are a fucking embarrassment to the yautja species…

If youd like to kno more i can show you. I have a whole plethora of useful unacknoledged predator info ranging from stealing audio tapes from dead fireteam members , parrying the fireteam as predator (YES that is NOT a typo you can indeed parry ft as pred aswell as vice versa) , going 100% invisable , and im an expert on stealth kills as well as alternate stealth kills involving pinned players netted to floors and walls.

You should check out my youtube channel (jlack besus clack bhrist) sometime. Im relatively new to it so i dont got a whole lot yet lol
Enjoy nontheless :)

Oh also if you dont want to level the traditional way i can show yall how to level up 2-4 levels per match involving a predator and a single fireteam member resulting in 20k+ xp each person each match

I think those stalking points are just gameplay xp. I get those all the time and still see 0 mission xp at the end. Also, if you play pred solo you dont get those stalking points but you get all mission xp (because FT did not complete any objectives?). I still think the only way to get Mission XP as pred is by preventing FT from completing objectives.

Are yu ps4 or pc?

Just curious

PC

Yup. I do this a lot !!!
