Would it be believable that Mr.Black was named after Shane Black as a sort of nod as a feature participant in the coming films (like the one he directed)? Just saying, to call any ‘thing’ mr. Black is kind of out of left field.

Mr.Black in the script was a black skinned spiky Predator. At one point the blood was also black rather than green.
Shane Black directing 4 was purely coincidental along with Assassin having characteristics of script Mr.Black. Remember, it’s 8 years before The Predator hit theaters. It can’t be foreshadowing to 4.

He was named after the concept predator that was originally gonna be used but that was mainly on set and they also gave him the name Berserker
I suppose they were all going to be the teletubbies on set? and for whatever reason a story was going to be made from those colours? Asides from scratching out the word “bubbles” and replacing it with “black” and think there was a design bible created for such colourful Yautja. Must have been a sci-fi opera in the making!
Your analysis screams a documentary film about the Predators film! I would just so be anthrawled by the concept of a black skinned predator with black blood. It would have been a 3 hour film by that concept alone~!’

Don’t think so. I think he’s just named that cause his mask is black. Which is werid because I always remember his mask being like a dark metallic red
His mask is just dark brown and he was nicknamed mr.black after the original concept pred that was all black is main name is Berserker
