Mudding weapons

Soldier would not ever put mud on his weapon, lose reliability and wear it down.

I don’t think that’s your most immediate problem if you’re being hunted by an 8 Ft tall Alien Hunter that has one focus, to kill you, and the only way to hide is to mask yourself with mud to lower your body temp.
And if it’s such a big immersion problem, run the goddamn AK, those things will fire in literally any condition lol.

You can mud yourself, why mud weapon? Shaders for nothing.

According to the laws of thermodynamics and heat transmission, your body heat would heat up the gun over time, so if you mudded yourself but not your weapon the Pred would see a shiny red floating gun lol. Granted you would need a lot less mud on the weapon though than the actual ft member.

I do agree with ya on the shaders though, wish they were a little brighter.

Obviously you’ve never owned any weapons.

Here we go with the realism in a video game about an alien that can cloak, shoot plasma, heal in 5 seconds…but still uses bow and arrows.

My Glock disagrees

That’s why we love Predators lol

I have dont own weapon but i know that they are made of corrosive steel. Weapon owning doesn\t make you more knowledeable, pretty opposite on my opinion.

Do you know how long it takes for steel to corrode? Since you wanna get so technical. Mudding up your weapon in one mission won’t make it corrode at that moment. Soldiers don’t use the same weapon for long, they keep exchanging them for new ones after a certain amount of usage. You will never be sent on a mission with a weapon that is corroded.

Come on mister “I’m so smart” gtfoh with your logic that does not apply to real life situations. You think wars are fought only in perfect weather conditions? You’re so retarded.

Yes and taking care of equipment is first rule of owning a gun. And its first rule in marines. Corroding starts right when you make it wet and let it into air, there is no magical 2month point when it start corroding.

Considering these missions only last two minutes. How about you get good instead of nit-picking at any little shit.

Now…I’m not gonna argue your stance that realism in video games is a stupid thing.

But I’m willing to bet you know a little mud by the ejection port of any AR/M-4/M-16 can cause a whole hell of a lot of trouble. I’m also pretty sure there ain’t a 1911 made that wouldn’t jam at the fire rate this game has for it lol

So you’re saying that someone completely uneducated in firearm use is more knowledgeable on firearms than someone who owns and keeps firearms. Your entire argument is stupid, untrue, and irrelevant.

You mean the barrel? The thing that could go wrong is if enough mud gets inside the dust cover, the bolt will fail to load rounds, it would get stuck, but you would really need to literally bury the rifle deep in the mud for that to happen. Soldiers were trained to keep their rifles above water, sand, mud…for this very reason. Even if the rifle did get some mud on it, in most situations it wouldn’t be enough for it to jam.

As far as the op being concerned about corrosion, he has no clue what he’s talking about.

I served in the Marines for four years. Went with grunts into combat zones. No one muds their weapons. The rust buildup from moisture is negligible, but mud in the barrel or above the magazine/behind the bolt could cause all sorts of problems with accuracy and jams.

Also mud vs thermal vision was Mythbusted awhile ago.

Also everyone claiming that mud wouldn’t fuck up your gun clearly never tried shooting with a sandy rifle. Sand fucks your rifle up BAD in terms of accuracy, and increases the chances of stoppages. Mud would be so much worse.

Read my reply above bro.
The only one who has no clue on the subject is the op.

Also, this makes no sense. It’s like me saying “everyone claiming that beer doesn’t get you drunk, clearly has never tried tequila”.

I get what you’re trying to say, but it’s the grammar nazi in me pointing this out.

But you’re wrong lol?
I’m speaking from experience here. Just going to the range and getting sand in our rifles causes stoppages to occur.
You’ll be popping off shots and then suddenly you’ve got a casing stuck sideways out your ejection port cover.

But back to mud vs thermal vision…which I’m not saying change the way the game works or anything, but it doesn’t work irl. Thermal vision isn’t beat by mud. But even if it was…the moment you shot the heat of the barrel would be visible.

Which part am I wrong about?
