Been playing pred for the last few days. Had about 4 matches today. Lost one. This is the only one were the players didn’t quit and my first win in that map. Since I have not memorized the missions is really hard. Also I was lucky the mission wasn’t inside the cave. Keep in mind I am a noob pred just starting out and this might hurt the eyes of experienced players. Tips are welcome other than pointing out that my aim is bad, really, really bad.

I’ve seen good console players both as pred and ft, not common, but there are a few. I have them on high regard giving the limitations of the platform

Well you’re doing the main thing you need to do, and that’s stay mobile.
Only things I would suggest:
Make more use of target isolation to get the FT ‘red marked’ so you have a better idea of their exact location when in close proximity.
Looks like you could afford to have your cloak activated more. I know you’re not standing still much, but it’s still better at hiding you than when you’re covered in luminous green blobs.
Save bear traps for outside locations rather than in buildings - that way you have the potential to take ranged shots at trapped FT.

Yeah, being a FT main I just find it weird using the whole thermal thing. Is like I can’t even see any of the environment, so I rarely activate it unless I can’t find the FT.

It takes some getting used to with the thermal but when you do it becomes second nature.

Its a noobtrap, just toggle it for 5 seconds to tag players and find pigs then turn it off. The only time I ever use it for a length of time is going for snipes with caster. Thermal makes doing everything harder for no reason because its so poorly implemented and the default vision is so much better giving you crystal clear audio.

My best advice on this map and backwater, but especially this map, is find the FT immediately. And I mean immediately. Get on them by the 14:40 mark and keep non stop pressure. I run scout with long jump and adrenal to cover the map in seconds.
Also, on trap use: with them being destroyable now for some reason try to drop them literally right on somebody’s head. Otherwise they’re useless.
I would also try to favor full charge caster shots over quick fire.

I’ve actually had some success with the caves. There’s a couple good spots above to rain down caster fire.
One more thing. Against a good team, I would make frequent use of jumping while staying crouched as you reposition. You’re landing is quieter and you go invisible much faster. MUCH harder to track especially with decoys.
Agreed. But I find that to be hit or miss. No pun intended.

Excavation is an all around very bumpy and wavy map. Lots of high ground, lots of low ground. It’s always instinct to stay at higher levels than your opponents but this map will eventually force you into the caves. When you have the FT doing their thing inside the caves you can use that time to trap their exits or force them into certain caverns. The AI and alarm systems in the caves are pretty difficult to silence completely so you should always use that to your advantage.
What I like doing and it’s pretty successful for me is when you’re finished trapping the FT exits and have your layouts figured, I sit beside a choke point and cloak and have decoys set up to confuse them when they come into your area and you wait for (potentially) a trapped victim and use that distraction to throw one more trap and then attack with your combi and it’s so congested that almost all times they can’t escape and you down the whole team.

Do you play against PC or PS4 players?
I used to play against PC players until it just wasn’t fair anymore with all the FT buffs and great accuracy of most PC players. But against PS players I win around 90% of the time. At least when I played then. I havnt played pred alot lately, I’ve been maining FT with the group I play with.
Edit: I should clarify I also won most of my matches against PC players until I stopped.
