So I just want to take time to address what I think could happen.
The legality of the situation only brings up a foreseen legal issue(they saw it coming) that would get ALOT of attention, albeit, I believe the reality is just that and a way for people to be on the rails about this game due to the F13 problem (which aren’t identical but can be equally compelling in getting media attention).
The game was created before the legal mess, so im sure its safe to say its going to continue being supported and developed as it was released last year.
DLCs itself require the 2020 product so hands down, its not like they must release a new title called PHG 2021 or something and have a new contract based off of the new IP owners.
If you think about the NFL games, you’ll realize they don’t keep making dlcs for the one released initially. They just release new games every year (hense the game name with 202x). But its safe to say PHG’s release is in the safe zone. So anything released today and going forward will require the original PHG program which is sold based on their initial contract agreement which financially stays with Disney/20 century.
I also believe the constant bashing of the game developers (hostile and hateful) somehow has a place in conjuring the opposite fanfare, where the fans remain dedicated or committed to the franchise because they like it. Making the reason to support it even more evident.
We ‘saw’ a glimpse into the future with a roadmap that features a ‘you know who’ from the predator franchise (the canonical one). From the looks of it, if the rendition is photo realistic and we get some interesting outfits, you can bet she(oops) will be the most popular character(possibly surpassing both the Dutches) to be released out of all of them and you can bet they really want to put the drop on us with her release. Just look at that cleavage and tell me there is going to be alot of demand for her to be present in the game. (who am i talking about? i won’t say.)
They probably will want to make it sexy with cool outfits…more outfits than usual because us ass munches like to play with dolls/actions figures.
We will probably get a new map but we won’t be getting either Airstrip or Head Quarters based off of leaks. Because if history dictates, they probably made extra sure they never leaked any of it before.
For example, Excavation was a surprise and we never found that one in the leaks.
Whether we might get it sooner than later is beyond me. i’m still gunning for night maps, and a dynamic weather system. Do those right and Illfonic won’t have anything to worry about. Doing dynamic day/night cycles and weather would solidify the PHG experience and because it takes the pressure off of creating new maps since our 4 maps will have dynamic delivery.
My best guess is the next update will be on May 4th, why? Because its an American holiday and players will want something to do that day and its coming up next week. Who knows maybe they will say something about that date soon. But after this affair with the cancelling of their live stream on the Anniversary, they will take on the next appropriate day available where customers will have time.
EDIT: “HOLD THE SHIT” May 4th isnt an american holiday… Nor was it ever…ITs JUST A MEME PEOPLE MADE UP from STAR WARS! LMFAO! That makes me totally wrong on that one!
