Absolutely not!, But the battle formation, and the terrain utilized made a winning combination.

Thatās probably why the Devs chose that weapon to put in the game as a Mythic trophy to begin with as oppose to their Bronze Shield, and Short Sword
Well, Illfonic probably used the spear because they already had too many sword/knifes, a spartan sword would had been too much of the same. And the spear was not only something unique but also viable to add to the Predatorās body when you compare to a shield, like how to make a chunk of a spartan shield look aesthetic? It wouldnāt have the same appeal as a tip of a spear.
But off topic, the shield in spartan society was much more valuable then any other thing, the spear was the ideal weapon and primary form of defense, but a shield? If a spatan lost a shield, they may as well die in battle to never return home.
And like the saying says: If you had to chose between a sword and a shield, you pick the shield 10 out 10 times.

All i know is that the Spartan spear is in the game and itās there for a reason.
And yes about the off topic subject about the Bronze Shield, i agree it was the most important part of their arsenal as it was a symbol of their strength and culture.
As their wives or loved ones would say every time they would go into battle āCome back with your shield, or on it.ā

Nothing just looks a bit small scale wise.
I know the Predator is taller and bigger than the average man but it still looks a bit off
