Necessary changes I'd love to see.

First off the game is fantastic, I love predator and have always loved asymmetrical games like dbd, ReResistance, Evolve, etc. First off we’ll start with the things I like are done well and I just generally enjoy.

  1. Customization, the amount and variety of customization for both sides is phenomenal and a wonderful addition to the game that I absolutely love.

  2. Classes, the introduction of classes for both predator and fireteam is a really nice way to compliment playstyles and teams strengths and weaknesses.

  3. Gameplay, When it works the game is fantastic. Stalking and planning ambushes as predator, having you’re own completely different missions as fireteam that can be completed with or without predator interference, all of the possible endings are a really good touch too.

Now we’re going to get into the parts I desperately think should be changed.

  1. Predator, oh boy, the predator overall is incredibly weak. Most of their tools and classes besides the combistick and the berserker class are laughable at best. The weapons are jokes. They deal little to no damage, lock the predator in buggy animations, and they have horrible tracking that will get any predator killed because whatever fire team member you’re attacking is just dancing in circles.

It’s really poor design and incredibly painful to grind through when you put the two things that make predator an actual threat locked behind level 42+. The overall weapons need much more polish in terms of tracking and damage. The sword is a fast attacking lightweight weapon that can strike multiple opponents. That sounds good until you realize it doesn’t track, it does laughable damage, and the animations bug out so many times. The war club is just bad in every way, low damage, bad range, horrid animations. Just a useless weapon. Now the Smart disc is well done. It’s a very nice, hard to use ranged weapon that has fantastic pay off, its personally my favorite weapon. The bow is also quite good but difficult to aim giving it a nice learning curve and reward to skillful predators.

Still continuing with Predator we’ll move onto classes.

Hunter, overall a good class. Does a little bit of both scout and berserker well and truly has no downsides other than not being berserker.

Scout, scout is my personal favorite and also the most disappointing. They’re fast, and have a ton of stamina but that’s it. They have 1 gear slot which will always be your heal, get shredded by literally anything 2x faster than any other class for absolutely no reason, and are almost completely useless once your mask has been blown off. My changes to scout would be as follows; Quiter footsteps and vocals. If you’re going to make a fast lightly armored class then why for all things on Yautja prime make them louder than a bulldozer plowing through the timberlands. Secondly, make their energy better. Either in terms of recovery or reserves. A class that is dependent on sitting in the back using ranged attacks to whittle down their prey needs something like this. Third, make their camo better. Camo in most cases is fairly useless especially since it seems to be that the predator makes additional noises while cloaked. Cloaking should be stealthy, not announcing to everyone you’re cloaking so they can start actively looking for you.

Berserker, Easily the best class. The lack of stamina means nothing when you’re so tanky you can go into any fight with a combi stick and slaughter anything with ease. Berserker is just easy mode. I’d highly recommend nerfing his general damage output while playing as berserker and maybe giving him a little less energy.

  1. Boars, bet you didn’t think I’d talk about boars did ya? Boars make me want to cry. They’re the only way to heal outside of your already small healing source as pred. They’re stupidly rare and hard to find, they’re absurdly fast, and their movement and animations are so ungodly buggy it’s nearly impossible to keep up with one after it’s been spooked.

3.A.I. The ai are perfectly fine though maybe give the predator the option to cancel a stealth kill. It’s very easy to be in a fight only to somehow stealth kill an npc and get stun locked.

  1. Parrying, parrying is a really neat feature to prevent the predator from just spamming attacks. However it’s also incredibly powerful and highly exploitable. In a 1v2 with Pred? Just parry spam him while your friend obliterates his hp with the grenade launcher, minigun, double heal, grenade loadout. It’s completely unnecessary for so many reasons and makes me rip my hair out everytime I even think about attacking a fireteam member.

  2. Reinforcement, respawning is a really good feature and adds more tension and playtime to matches. However it’s also an instant predator loss in most cases. It happens entirely too fast, the predator cannot break respawning radios like medkits and ammo boxes, and the fireteam respawns with ALL their gear including medkits, syringes, and grenades. It’s depressing and frustrating when you kill 3/4 fireteam members and the last one is 10 miles away doing his own thing and because he didn’t want to be a team player he ends up being rewarded for it.

  3. Defusing Predators self destruct, why? Why is this even a thing? Lore reasons aside from a gameplay perspective it’s terrible. It’s way too easy to do once you’ve actually learned how, makes the predator spectate a match he’s no longer in and cannot leave, and feels so disappointing to the predator who tired their best only to get gunned down, tbagged, and bm’d on mic. Please make it harder or longer, give pred a perk to do so, or my personal favorite, A preemptive self destruct option.

In conclusion, help my boy predator out. He didn’t become blooded to get bm’d by a bunch of human grunts.
