Nerf Berserker

I know that y’all might say that “oh, you just suck” but it’s absolutely not true – I destroy lesser predators like Hunter and Scout with ease, proving that they need to be buffed, but the real problem is not them – it is the DREADED Berserker/Combistick combo that all real players fear. Any idiot with half a brain can grind to 44 and then proceed to mash Leftclick/R2 while sprinting to the fireteam and wipe all of them. It’s so easy, I tried it. I jumped right into the middle of 4 guys with miniguns and killed three of them before my Second Wind hit. I could’ve easily gotten the last guy if I was a little more intelligent and whipped out my net gun, but I was trying to emulate the sheer stupidity of a Berserker/Combistick player. Some of you may say that I’m mad because I’m bad, but I think that all people who play fireteam for an extended amount of time will agree with me. Any idiot can swing a combistick, but only intelligent Predator players should win. I think that Berserker should be nerfed, because this class is so dumb and OP when combined with certain perks and Combistick, that a lobotomized 5 year old could easily wipe an entire fireteam with it if they knew generally how to play (the leap, move, sprint, and strike buttons are all you need to win with this busted combo). Combistick does not need to be nerfed. It’s fine as-is, and I’m sure some people may not agree, but when it’s used in conjunction with Berserker, the fireteam’s chances drop infinitesimally. It’s total BS, and it just doesn’t make the game that fun. Kudos to you if you and your team can beat a berserker with a combistick, but unlike you, me and most other players cannot, and that’s not how it should be. Illfonic’s original message was “the predator will pick off stragglers and idiots” but the game’s message is “if you hit level 44 and use berserker/combistick you will win 80% of the time”, and that’s just unfair.

I hate to break it to you, but parrying completely screws with any and all melee Preds. Literally just pull out your knife by holding melee and swing at the pred, you’ll parry half their attacks whilst they either get plastered with bullets or shot up by your other members.

The berserker-combi combo works well against people who don’t know how to parry, but not against playets who know about the parry.

Trust me, I’ve tried to be a berserker-combi guy and half the time I get parried and shot the hell up.

I just feel like you’re upset that you weren’t able to maybe the berserker everybody calling for a nurse to everything that’s predator related is insane maybe think about nursing the fire team and just because you still can’t get lucky and jump in the middle of a bunch of Mingus does
not prove your point

Even though you may have that experience, I am someone who knows how to parry, and can parry fairly well (40% chance or so) but the thing is that even if you do parry, it stuns for less than a second, and you can only do it a few times before you hit 0 stamina. Even if you parry all 3 attacks, the next three will hit you, (because you’re out of stamina) and if they don’t, it’s because the Berserker is finally running away, massive health pool depleted. When, eventually, you cannot find him or shoot him a little while he’s running (but he gets away regardless, due to still-fairly-massive HP) he comes back 30 seconds later, and if he has half a brain (which most players do) he’s ready to take down the squad members that don’t know how to parry, leaving you (and your parrying friends) alone and facing your inevitable demise.

Sorry, I don’t speak 7 year old.

Thank you for the great advice, but I’ll defend my statement to my last breath.

This is why a lot of these discussions end up useless. Everyone wants a nerf to what killed them. You have players swearing the Pred needs a buff and you’ll have players swear the FT does. I hope IllFonic shares some real data with us at some point.

Try playing fireteam for once. You’ll quickly see what I mean by Berserker/Combistick OP. I guarantee you that we will see eye-to-eye once you hop off your ivory tower and get your hands dirty.

I agree frozen seems there are alot that refuse to believe pred CAN be op. I play fire team alot and most of the preds I see are tho are the beserker combistick combo and at the first objective they just run in swinging not much you can do if they time it right it’s a full time wipe in seconds. Both sides have balancing issues but the pred mains just want the pred to be a god and invincible and make all the weapons one shot the fire team…well that wouldn’t be very fun to play if you always got one shot is it? There are some balancing issues tho. I personally think both sides have way too many perks as well. Just my own views I still find the game fun but I think I’ll move to private matches mostly as I get bored of games only lasting 4 minutes either cus we’ve wiped at the first camp or cus we’ve killed the predator. Hopefully if they sort the balancing people wont just rush in all the time spamming melee. Also agree with Agent they need real data on this to get the balancing right to stop people turning the game into their favour jaut cus they dont like not winning all time. It’s a game it’s not lore specific theyve just tried to capture the 87 movie and make it fun and for the most part I think theyve succeeded. Good job guys just get that polish put on and get it balanced and you’ve got a winner

I play both cupcake. And yes, he is quite the beastly boy, but not indestructible. Iv wiped teams with him and been curb stomped with him. Iv had my ass kicked by him and taken him down after his initial attack. Again, he’s not indestructible. Players are just now unlocking him. Give FT users time to figure him out. These immediate calls for nerfs and buffs, from ALL over this forum are quite frankly, ridiculous.

Like I said in my original post, if you had been paying attention at all (I’ll guess not, because you jumped the gun and called me, essentially, salty) I am not a man who can consistently beat a Berserker Combistick. Standing with me in the “not able to consistently beat Combistick Berserker Build” are a fair amount of other players. I’m not angry simply because I can’t consistently beat him. I’m angry because this game allows no variation. It’s either “play berserker and win most of the time” or “play Hunter, Scout, or Fireteam and not have your wins fed to you like a baby in a high chair”, so I think he should be nerfed into the “you need at least 100 IQ to play him” category.

IDK man, I think he takes a little more skill than you’re giving him credit for, but I’m certain Illfonic is taking notes of his usage and win rate and if the dude is OP, they’ll make the proper adjustment.

I hear ya. Iv had some super short matches going towards both sides and they can be underwhelming to say the least.

You sounds like a child who managed to lose, while playing fireteam. Smh, God gud kid it doesn’t skills to while in a fireteam.

The Predator is to easy for the fireteam and you say one should him nerfen.
90% of the community say make the Predator stronger and you say nerf him, you can even kill easy a berserk with Combistick.

Thank you, entitled predator main who claims that they are older than me while at the same time manages to f@$k up their grammar a lot. Also, that bad word back there is the F-Word. Considering that I suspect you to be under the age of 13, I haven’t actually spelled it out in this post.

have you seen the movies the predator densest rush in there and killed all of them he takes them out slowly one by one until the last one when he goes into for an all out brawl

Yes, I say to nerf him because he definitely deserves it. If we dissuade players from just constantly running this build by nerfing it, maybe we can add a little bit of flavor back into this overly-salted game.
