Net Gun Adjustment

Can u only escape from nets a certain amount of times or do u know? This one match I did the last guy never escaped from the net, but it’s never happened again so idk if he was just wanting to die or not

It’s really not overkill as they can be cut very easily ie one swipe of a teammates knife

Net gun pins need to have a reason for existing other than style points. FT clears it too quickly.

If done in the right spot you can draw the hiding ft members out in the open like I did in one of my videos.

Oh I do, I know it can be cleared easily just saying there are uses for it not many but a couple here and there if you can nail a pin shot.

Pin shot is weaker than a normal shot. So it is essentially pointless to go for except style points.

I wish pinning shots could function @ x2 the distance from a wall/ground than it does now to make pinning targets much more likely.

Why? It’s not like pinning yields any advantage over regular net wraps since pins can be broken the fastest. I can pull them off quite consistently but there is no real point except a very specific gimmick build of net pin into quick switch combi throw.
The change I would like to see is pins be unbreakable by the pinned target (look at the movies no one escapes it), or take double the amount of interaction, forcing teammates to have to come to their aid. This would also would allow for the net gun stealth kills to actually be pulled off. For proper balance make the net break from any damage that comes from pred other than the net gun DOT.

I like the idea that Pinned Wall/Ground Targets cannot free themselves — but rather have to be cut free by another soldier.

@OldKingHamlet it would make Pinning Targets more valuable for the Predator and force the FT to use Teamwork in those situations to survive.

In addition, to having the NetGun pinning shots activate from x2 the current distance away from a wall or ground surface.

Pinning targets to walls and the ground as is, happens very little in matches. I didn’t even realize it could be done to FT members for awhile until I had a match where I pinned Dutch. Seen here:

I would like a hooked net that can still fire (to net the person) and then (while the other end of the net is attached to the net gun) you need to manually click fire again at a wall to net them into it or just let go of the aim in order to release the net (which allows you to keep them standing).

This probably would have to reduce the distance between you and a target for it to work. Other wise, maybe distance netting can work as it does currently.

I really like that picture, don’t mind the distance being increased slightly but am totally against not being able to free myself.

Also freeing should be hold Square.

Sounds great initially but then I thought about it. If you’re completely dependent on someone else to free you, your screwed. It literally turns into an op trap. Catch one, catch the other that tries to free him. Pin the other two at the reinforcements, then pin reinforcements…waaaaaay op

Do we know if the current mechanics at least provide greater difficulty escaping while pinned vs not being pinned?

Not that I know, but there’s an idea. Pinned it acts like bear trap, hold the button for however many seconds (never timed beartrap) open, button mash.

Its definitely faster to escape than trying to free yourself while running around

It’s faster when standing still, while not pinned, to escape if you stay in one place and spam square than it is to walk + try to escape.

So, it’s probably the same timing as standing still.

Let’s not and say we did.

Pinned targets escape as quickly as not moving (obviously since you can’t move) while moving increases duration. Therefore pinning a target is weaker than a normal net wrap.

Edit: which is why I said pins need a buff if not unbreakable then double or triple the amount of time to break it because they are more difficult to pull off with less reward at this point except for style points/gimmick build.
