They have to be close enough to the wall, and only certain walls will give the visual. Even though they are stuck there, some times they will look like they are just standing there.

When it comes to the net all I want is for it to tangle you fully not run around. You can even debuff the nets to only like 3-4. What net in the world only tangles your upper torso? It is completely unrewarding for those smart players who like to get those well placed shots from afar.
