Net Gun should be a gear item

I think I’ve seen this suggested before but it’s a solid idea.

In my opinion…

-Lower net count to 3, 4 with Large Pouch

-Base net should be where current net + Trapper perk is at. With Trapper, it should be near impossible to escape from.

-Netted players should receive increased damage with an increased slow effect.

-5 gear points, meaning it’s this or the Bear Traps for most builds.

yeah i suggested it before and i also in tandem with this i suggested giving teh predator a dedicated gear button like FT has and make target iso a Hold button action so when you hold vision mode you get target iso which frees said button up for controllers

so then you could have a melee weapon and apply pressure with the offensive gear items like BT’s and wrist launcher and in tandem the net gun

albeit i wouldn’t bother buffing or nerfing the netgun and i’d say you should get minimum of 7 nets 9 with BP they too easily catch other unintended objects that aren’t the people your aiming at

NG should never have been a weapon slot when it isn’t used to kill fireteam members it’s primary purpose is to control them like the BT

You do this and it will be nearly impossible for Pred like myself to get Net gun pin to wall/ground into stealth kills.

A lame counter argument to you I’m sure but still applicable.

Could just use custom controlls

How do you figure? Just save your nets. IIrc you get those applications are for when a players been downed a few times, right? So if when using my layout, a skull-tagged player is basically glued to the wall/floor until freed via teammate.

4 nets vs 15 is how I figure. Now if net gun pins were more consistent then I’d have no problem with your idea. But the fact is they aren’t.

Don’t get me wrong I mostly like your idea as far as an attempt at making netgun more useful. However at the same time there are flaws in your concept. Such as

This would make LMS too easy to deal with. Which realistically would be the case, but gamebreaking within the game.

Considering the net count and really needing better aim, I think it would balance out. Since launch the net gun has kinda been a noob weapon that you can really just spam the whole match. I just wanna both buff and balance it, and I think making it a gear item with a higher effect but a lesser ammo count is the best solution.

Nah to little. Id say 7 and 9 with large pouch.

custom controls does not give predator a dedicated gear button like FT has

where you can have your primary weapon equipped fire it and click another button and instantly throw a grenade

predators currently have to equip the individual gear item which takes 1.5 seconds then aim and throw which is another 1.5 seconds

in that time period you could be dead or lose your mask

Illfonic should also remove the ability of the fireteam members to cut each other free from nets.

If you had a dedicated button you still would go through that. You’d still have to put your weapon away, and still have to go through the animations.

They have to completely revamp the animations.

So it’s not a button you want it’s a gear rework.

perhaps but it would shave off at least 1.5 seconds between using gear items just by having a button

when FT clicks their gear button they instantly use the item (which plays a short animation of using said item in the case of syrettes) then equip their gun in less than a second ready to fire again

that’s what i want for all predator gear items the only thing that would happen is the short 1 second of pulling out the BT and you’d hold to aim but obv we want to just fucking throw that shit like a frisbee

or with the wrist launcher it would just fire at the center reticle no animation required aside from raising the arm of the predator which is near instant

That’s still not a dedicated gear button that’s just faster animations

it literally is when they don’t’ have to equip the item by clicking gear item one to pull out the med bags stop then aim then throw then press weapon 1 to equip their rifle

when predators must click gear 2 to equip BT’s then aim then throw then go back to weapon 2 for plasma caster

they just click the button and they throw it no extra inputs taking up time

So let’s say there was a macro that swapped to a gear item, held L2 and pressed r2, then imediettly swapped back to your previous weapon with fran perfect inputs.

Would that be the same thing as your asking for here but jury rigged?

Assuming that they are frame perfect yes as it would be as it’s.mostly what the FT has
however probably not in the case of the wrist launcher as it should never need to be swapped to it should just fire while the other weapon is never unequipped as some gear items that are based on the wrist computer (such as the wrist launcher energy flechette launcher or the power glove) should never need to be equipped much like the wrist blades
