The casting call for the movie said that the character is intended to be a 17 year old character. That obviously might have changed after the casting, but that’s the age people are using because of that.
Also in Comanche society, women did all the construction, so you’d think she’d at least be fairly handy to build some kinda trap or whatever.

But the Predators are supposed to be limiting themselves, even against Dutch’s FT, and are known to have been coming to earth for hundreds of years so obviously they had to face humans that weren’t as well-equipped in the past.
If any Pred movie is set in the past then it’d have to be “lowering the bar”
How so? I mean, how has any Pred limited itself? I’ve never heard of that. Sure, JH didn’t have all the toys CH did and in nearly every movie, they get new toys.
In the new one, if pred had the blades, and a bow, I’d be cool with that, but I’ve heard zip about the loadout it may have.
And when I say lowering the bar, I mean softer Preds vs constantly softer prey. It’s just a fact.

I believe those were rumors. I might be wrong, but I don’t remember anything that looked reputable.
They limit the tech they bring, they constantly give their prey chances when they could simply kill them to get a better hunt, etc. At least for the first 2 movies, after that, fans were too dumb to notice what the Pred was doing so the Preds just became selectively incompetent instead.

Ok cool! I’ve never read that before. It’s neat. Like I said, if the new Pred has only blades, a club and a bow with the cloaking device, no plasma weapons, I’d be cool with that. I just think it should hunt something at the top of its game, not a kid, just starting out. That’s what’s annoying, not gender or any of that malarkey. If they want to cast a lady, then give me a lady about 30 in MMA fighter shape with a few scalps on her lance, not a kiddo.

Pred lores always been flimsy as hell compared to say Halo or Star Trek which does the whole honor thing to the 9th degree. They never really commit to it and come across as highly questionable pvp flagged space orcs.
I mean they use blades and spears which can be seen as a form of limiting themselves in combat, or maybe they just enjoy killing people like that but they aren’t dumb.
Jungle Hunter didn’t jump on Dutch’s team trying to kill them all with wristblades, he was no potato, he knew he would get melted, he ambushed lone soldiers by surprise both with wristblades and plasma caster when he saw the chance. He could have tried to challenge himself by uncloaking and trying to melee them all but well, what’s the point of it if the chance of you dying in the process is so high ?
Funny that the original Predator hunted exactly like how some people cry over how Predator players act on this game, shooting plasma from a tree until the fireteam numbers are down. They should replace the useless tutorial on this game just with scenes of the original movie to show how The Predator hunted efficiently, dying while challeging yourself isn’t effective. Even when he was in a 1v1 with Dutch he spammed the fuck out of that plasma caster when his wrist computer was destroyed. Make the Original Predator proud kids, use plasma. He only went for melee after exposing Dutch and it was more about taking his time to enjoy the kill than giving him a fair fight.
Even their plasma caster I see as the equivalent of a human hunter with a hunting rifle, that’s equipment for hunting not war. On AVP Extinction they showed an interesting example of military Predators, the weapons you bring to take down a hive full of Aliens is different, you need to bring something that will give you the means to win without overdoing it. Not using a goddamn laser beam that can wipe a forest in 1 second is no fun while hunting humans.
Idk they consistently get rolled even in this game and its tie-ins. If a grizzly kills a person we go kill the Grizzly.
They can’t even decide if losing their tech is a big deal or not much less have any safe guards in place if they care about it so much why do they keep donating bodies lol.
The closest thing we got was cyborg terminator Assassin predator and even he was stupid.

The inconsistency is in the writers’s hands. People said Jungle self destructed to not let them get their tech, maybe he just wanted to kill Dutch. City was ready to do the same but when he failed he didn’t seem to care about recovering his mask, combi, caster but I suppose he had more in his mind during the fight, still his clan didn’t seem to think about recovering either. The rest of them could have made a full cleanup on the area if they cared.
On the top of my head the entry take makes the most big deal of losing tech is the game Predator: Concrete Jungle.
I don’t even consider the Assassin, I ignore The Predator existence. Dutch should get his revenge vs Cleo sure.
