Imagine only portraying Native Americans as inherently spiritual in a country where the white majority is religious to a point that white evangelists are one of the most important voter demographics.
Like, majority of people in rural areas are religious. Itās just the case of colonizers exoticizing the other: itās the myth about the noble savage, about the bloodthirsty savage, the nature loving/spiritual Native. Itās called - in the wider sense of the term - orientalism.
I once again refer you to the readings Iāve provided. You do need to educate yourself on representation on Native Americans in media.

Hereās a pro tip: you can like things for certain aspects and still acknowledge their problematic aspects. A lot of people like Harry Potter even though they acknowledge an incredible amount of garbage that the series is riddled with.

Iām just pointing out obvious things like: long and gruesome history of colonialism is not over as it is very much present in our daily lives and in our pop culture. Thatās, like, it.
