It seems to be a inspiration of AVP hence Spiritual successor.

It’s not AVP

Code Name: Xeno is likely a development name (like PHG’s code name is spacefish)

And while it will take inspiration from AvP and its “monsters”, it is a completely new IP unrelated to the aforementioned franchises.
