New Level of Stupid

Had a customer this morning who was very confused.

She called the Day before asking about dropping the vehicle off early so that she could get to work on time.

So informed them of the drop box on outside of the wall. Keys and paperwork into the box and u will be checked in first thing in the morning.

Great. That’s awesome they said…

Arrive at work. Vehicle parked in the lot im like great I needed this one to fulfill a specialty rental because its a van. I open up look in the drop box collection area no key. So confused I was like maybe they just left them in the van… nope no keys.

Phone rings. Its the renter of of the van.

Confused and a little angry.
Asking why I lied about the drop box.

Confused? I asked excuse me but I didn’t.

Customer said that the only thing on the outside of the building was the depository.

Yes thats the drop box,
This building is over 70 years old and that was the term back then.

Customer confused and now embarrassed hangs up the phone and rushes to give me the key.

She apologized for some strange reason and went on her way.

You should rename the depository to drop box. People think in different ways, especially when things don’t turn out as expected. Kinda funny tho, but i could see myself making that mistake.

I cant tho. The lid of the drop box is welded to its hinges which is then built into the build.

I mean, cant you put up a sign above to it saying ‘dropbox’?

I would imagine that this is a 1 in a 1000 issue tho. Most people get it so maybe you don’t have to do anything

Ok, so to build on @Anyt1m3 's point, how about putting up a large sign, with bold yellow, reflective letters on a black background (for night time of course) that reads
“DROP BOX, YOU RETARDS. DEPOSITORY IS JUST AN OLDER, FANCIER WAY OF SAYING DROP BOX. NOW GIMME THE KEYS AND SHUT THE FUCK UP. GOOD DAY.” AND then have an arrow pointing to the box.

Lol. Maybe I will do that.

Sounds reasonable to me. It gets to the point pretty quickly
