I was thinking about the Predator and what kind of new equipment, weapons, or otherwise they could have. And I think I came up with a couple of neat little ideas based on equipment that I personally thought was really cool that I found.
Augmented/Upgraded Bio-Mask ( Pulse Detector )
- Based entirely on the Super Predator’s Bio-Mask that can sense their prey’s pulse’s, I think I came up with a way that this might be a little fair to both sides. Of course, the immediate problem is, “The Fireteam can’t hide from that!”. Exactly, which is why I propose this upgrade to the Bio-Mask take up an entire weapon slot, meaning you lose the ability to run say Net Gun + Combistick. Instead you’d run, for example, Combistick + Pulse Vision. And the button to activate Pulse Vision would just be doubletapping the Thermal button. In addition to taking up an entire weapon slot, it could also probably take a lot more energy to maintain compared to the regular Thermal. And perhaps, even have even further limited vision ( such as everything is black and you can only see little ‘blips’ showing where the Fireteam members are ). Just a rough idea, but I think it would be sweet if properly implemented.
Plasmacaster… Gatling… Gun? Whatever it would be called.
- Also based on the Super Predator’s equipment, hear me out on this. Too much damage, too fast of a fire rate; I know, that’s how it looks on paper and at first glance. But I was thinking that it could be a case of “really high fire rate, really low damage”. A hailstorm of low-damaging but fast-coming plasma shots would be excellent for motivating the Fireteam to scatter, for example. I was thinking it would be on the scale of 1.5 - 3dmg per shot, with a small explosion radius ( maybe slightly smaller than the uncharged regular Plasmacaster shot ). And just like the Pulse Vision, this would take up a weapon slot, replacing the regular Plasmacaster once you load into the game.
At the end of writing this, I probably should have just named this “Suggestions on how to implement Super Predator weapons”, but I just wanted to get my rough ideas out there and see what other people think!
