This is correct. You have to peel back the hate for the sequels and the writing to properly see it. Rey had plenty of hardships, and trials, and setbacks. Yes, she was strong, yes, she was skilled, and a lot of it was natural through the force. But she still needed training, a lot of it. And she got a decent amount, from Luke, and whatever happened off-screen between TLJ and TROS. A lot of people think she’s a Mary Sue because it seems like she grew so powerful so quickly with no hardship and no training, when if you actually WATCH the films and learn about her character, you’ll see that’s not true at all. Nevertheless, her character could have been written much, much better.

Also the timespan of how powerful she got was much faster than luke in the originals. Either way the story was just written poorly.

Well, I found this while digging around. It explains how she’s able to learn everything so fast…apparently.

"In a section on Force abilities, it is said that Rey has an innate Force power called psychometry. Check it out courtesy of Screen Rant .

“Some Force abilities require years of training, a form of instinctual aptitude, or a very strong connection to the Force to access. A small number of Force users, including Rey and Cal Kestis, have the rare ability of psychometry, which allows them to learn about people or events by touching an object associated with them.”

Psychometry was actually introduced in The Clone Wars animated show. However, I don’t recall Quinlan Vos being able to learn any Jedi ability just out of thin air. Instead the animated show had Vos experience what he perceived quite vividly. This works for Rey’s flashbacks when holding Anakin’s Lightsaber, but that’s as far as I’m willing to go."

Fans who care can just not watch it. Then again, I honestly wouldn’t call them actual fans, because if they can willingly go pay $14 see shit like AVP:R and The Predator, then they can boot this up for free and come to their own conclusion instead of reading a review. That’s close-mindedness to the extreme.

I’m a fan of the franchise but I most certainly do not eat, sleep, or shit anything from it. I own the steelbook of the first film, I own the second, I play PHG and AVP’10, and I have ONE toy, the NECA City Hunter. To me that’s all I need. And honestly, this movie looks pretty decent. I’m sure it’ll pull some hollywood politics, but I have a kickass Pred doing some kickass things, and if the ending makes sense, then cool.

I knew you were going to go this route. This is not JH87. Keep up with the articles, mate.
