One has lead to prosperity and the erasing of poverty across the world. Absolute poverty was cut in half in like 20 years thanks to capitalism. Communism lead to the starvation, extermination and repression of everyone it controlled. “But muh not real communism” anyone who cries that is evil beyond measure and has committed the modern day unforgivable sin. They advocate a system of tyranny that lead to people eating their own dead and children in desperation

As someone who has experienced Homelessness. Its true. Only hard work & merit will improve your life standing. You have to work or even fight for everything you get, life is a struggle and how you handle that struggle determines the true depth of your character. If you have a Skill, you should use it. Life is a competition, it’s just how Nature is, and you shouldn’t be ashamed or shy away from trying to do & be better than your peers.
These commie types hate that hard work can lead to success, they hate that not every skill or line of work is equal. I don’t deserve more pay than a Life Saving Doctor, I don’t see why they’d advocate that I should get it. I deserve more than those who waste their years on meaningless College Courses & titles. Dunno why they take offence to that.
If you can earn it, take all the money ya can get.

Agreed on capitalism. Still it has problems for example in US (wide redistribution of wealth, so so social programs, greed, money in politics, power with corporations, etc). Not saying that communist approach would fix these, but there might be some good ideas there.
Communism didn’t work on a lot of levels economically, but the political powers that implemented it never gave it a chance either.
And how many of those problems involved government and the corrupt people that seek power via government jobs? It’s not that power corrupts, it’s that those who are corrupt seek power. The best people for those jobs are those who don’t seek or want that power. Such is the nature of people.

I can’t fully agree because I do fully subscribe to “I do not want power, I don’t want to be put in charge.” And whilst you say that would make me a perfect candidate to be given it, the reason I don’t want Power is BECAUSE I know I’d become a Monster with it. I can’t trust myself not to, so its why I refuse to seek positions of power.

Agreed. Communism was just a tool for control. The intent is good, i think, bet perhaps it cannot be realized by humans
That’s fair. What I should have said is the people we would want to be in control are those that wouldn’t seek that power themselves. I know several people that I think would be great in local positions in the government but they’re too nice of people to ever want that.

Depends on a person. It’s a tough proposition. Most people in power have an idea of how a system should work and perhaps if they don’t get their way, they start to push a bit to much and could become a tyrant.
Supposedly that why system of checks and balances is so good. But then you see career politicians in USA. They can do no wrong because there is no accountability. Their positions are safe because there is a lot of money behind them.
I would literally FORCE Freedom upon everybody. Non-negotiable. In the pursuit of ensuring Democracy, I would do monstrous things to any who oppose the system: be they Socialist, Communist or Fascist. I would line each & every one of them up against the wall. That is what I would do with power. You would accept democracy & freedom, or you would perish.
So that is why I do not want power, because even though all of those ideologies threaten my Freedom, the ideals I love so much. I refuse to become a Monster like them. So long as I stay out of positions of power, so long as I remain one of the masses, I will hold true to the belief of giving everybody a 2nd chance.
And perhaps it is foolish to give those who hate you a 2nd chance. But I was never raised to “throw the first punch” I was raised with the belief of “Throw the punch that ends it.” and “Forgive your enemies, but remember their names.”
Absolute Power corrupts Absolutely. It is why you must be steadfast in refusing it.

You would know yourself better than i would, so no argument there.
But in general, democratic society allows for discourse, do that’s why I would listen to the other side and hopefully we can come to understanding to implement real world solutions to whatever problems there are
Indeed. To fully realize the ideals I hold to, I must accept & allow those who would seek to overthrow the ideals a seat at the table. Even against better judgement, even with all of history proving what they would do if given power: to be a completely fair & free society we must allow everybody a voice: so that they can be talked down & shown how wrong they are before we ever have to come to blows hopefully.
Ironic really, giving a voice to those who would take yours away. But hey, that’s what ya gotta do to be fair & free.
That’s how you get everyone to buy into the system
