Shit monster designs, elephantmen retcon, didn’t feel like alien at all in general. As its own standalone thing i’d still find it boring. Alien’s defined by it’s look and the new round of creatures just didn’t deliver at all. Then it tried to put the focus on androids since the “aliens” and goo monsters suck without any creativity behind them.
It was never going to live up to the impossible hype but the trailers were some of the best out there. The marketing was definitely what sold the movie.
