Pred 2 got a lot of shit for awhile, for whatever reason. Whoever’s been saying Prey is the best since 87 is still holding on to that old guard kind of thinking.

100% , the reason predator 2 doesn’t get the praise is because arnold didn’t return , he has never returned to the franchise . He was part of what made the original great , but he really wasn’t the driving force of the franchise , the yautja themselves are
I mean, I think Pred 2 > Pred by like, a minuscule amount.
Then again I think Predators is good, I dunno.
I’d say they aren’t supposed to be the reason why, but has artificially become that force because people are stupid and want mindless monster scenes with no context or thematic importance.

Granted a lot of those movies aren’t good , but the villain is the selling point . Personally I think it only makes sense to have a great story around those characters , but sadly most of the time people settle for them just being present 🚬
