I do agree that predators equipment is somewhat weak compared to the fireteam equipment. I mean, FT can theoretically spot me from half a map away with a sniper rifle. While Im cloaked. It has already happened, and Im lvl 16. FT can mud up and have essentially better invisibility to predators cloak (even if Im only using thermal about 50/50 now, I can actually sometimes see people better without it).
The FT can keep up with the predator in melee, which sounds somewhat fair… until you remember that there are three other FT members. With guns. Who can help the one in melee.
The plasmacaster feels vastly weaker to a sniper rifle or even the assault rifle, simply by the virtue of being a slow-moving projectile. I don’t know how much damage it does, but that doesnt really matter when its nigh-impossible to get direct hits with it on normally moving FT members, let alone those who know you are there. To be honest, Ive barely started playing and I feel like I wanna ditch the thing entirely. Its only good for killing AI soldiers and pigs. ON TOP of it all, the plasma caster has the laser sight from which FT can spot it, while FT weapons don’t have anything of the sort. The plasma caster is inferior to FT guns in almost every way, while predator is supposed to be the superior alien hunter…Devs REALLY need to buff this.
ps. I am sort of relishing the challenge playing as a predator, but even just on the conceptual level I dont think predator equipment should be INFERIOR to what the FT has. That is just borked.
I am having lots of fun playing PHG, but I do see balance issues.
This game has lots of potential and already it feels way more fun than say, dead by daylight, which Ive sporadically played since it launched (3+ years? I cant remember anymore). I am going to make a different thread detailing why I like this game more than Dead by daylight. And those reasons got nothing to do with game balance.
