NPC AI shoddy

The fact that you take a class like recon to be sneaky and surprise the predator, then have your cover blown at all times because NPC AI swarms right on you, kind of defeats the purpose of having that class.

Are there plans to alter the AI at all so that they don’t constantly show the predator where “hidden” recon players are? @Courier

Not just recon. You can be 100metres away and they’ll spawn and run right to you even if you’re silent and hidden.

Big Facts. Question how would they improve the A.I?

Add more AI and stop spawning so many. The only so spawn should be the alarm. Give them a patrol path so they don’t chase endlessly. Objectives should have a challenge that if failed calls in reinforcements. AI see truly the least polished part of this game.

While we’re at it give FT melee an aim assist for bots. Too often swinging missing and paying dearly.

yeah it’s ridiculous, like have the AI swarm an area, but they shouldn’t be able to just “know” where players are until they come across them in actual view, and there should be parameters added for if you’re behind terrain/buildings (out of line of sight), hidden in bushes, mudded up, etc. certain things like bushes and mud/camo could have a stacking effect on how much harder you are to see by npcs.

games like far cry, ghost recon, etc all have AI far superior to these. hoping that illfonic can work on them and turn them into something much more of a challenge while also making them more realistic and not “all knowing”

A.I. could spawn from vehicle’s or huts on the map rather than just anywhere. I do think camps could be set up with more A.I. but also position them in a way to allow stealth.

Any perk that effects the A.I. behaviour would be nice too. Existing perks like Silence could make them less aware of you’re foot steps. A new perk that makes them act like you’re one of them till you attack could be fun.

that would be an interesting take on AI.

they definitely need a visual scope more so than they currently do, with more realistic “where’d they go?” looking around and not just homing in on players they shouldn’t know about (if it were a real world fight).

I do think they have improved, I see them streaming into firing lines and taking cover more often.

I’m not sure how these A.I. are programmed or set up but if we can get a few variations on the existing skill set and spread them around in the rest it might provide some interesting variations to how normal fights go.

The spawning is pretty bad. I’ll be looking north then turn my back and AI will literally spawn north and start shooting. I don’t mind the dumb AI as it mirrors the dumb fodder soliders you got in 87. Have they increased the AI numbers in 1.10 cos there seems to be double the amount of AI compared to previously.

Yup, add this to bad frame rates with some weird 180°sharp turns and you got some really shitty AI to fight with…
