Back in the beta and before FT got specializations, you had to have skill to play FT. At least, for the most part. There was no PDL, there was no Hammerhead, there was Dutch, there was no Stalker, there was no Axe, there was no Hook. The caster charged one shot down 150 health and took up significantly more energy.
Thing is, FT in this tourney is nerfed quite a bit but still holds the upper hand. But instead of allowing players to be rambo and reckless, it requires them to take shit seriously. This is a surefire way to separate the men from the boys. The best from the rest. If you can’t play without a specific loadout and struggle with one of the defaults, you shouldn’t call yourself good. If you struggle without Down Range, Fearless, Impen, Ironside, Thick Skin, OWLF Trained, Gearhead, Heavy Hitter, etc, you shouldn’t call yourself good. It’s really that simple. Get out of your comfort zone and play to win.
For example. I’m at my very best when playing Dutch 2025 but because I use almost every other class regularly, I can key in and exploit my strengths and even suppress my weaknesses. You have to expand and control your comfort zone to become a better player.
