ah yes thats why these woke remakes are so beloved.

just face it, its easier to take something thats already popular and use it as a political vehicle because that’s exactly whats happening. no one would watch that kind of preachy self-congratulatory drivel without a brand name slapped on it.

case and point phase 4 marvel is about to tank itself just the like star wars trilogy. something gets popular and people that give 2 shits about the source material just insert stories that feel like cold war era propaganda pieces & everyone that doesnt like it is a bigot.

when people used to be interviewed they didnt go “yeah the last movie wasnt empowering enough so heres my cool new take on X popular series. I hope we can all learn something from my amazing work of art.”
Its very clearly an agenda and they openly admit this.

If your number 1 priority is race or gender swapping a character go make a social documentary instead of subjecting everyone to your EPIC subversions. But they know no one will willingly watch that.

It’s less that and more that the agenda wasn’t the PURPOSE of the art back then. Storytelling as a whole has died because people don’t look for subtext or symbolism. People are too lazy to look beyond the surface and “artists” are too lazy to weave a message in between the lines and instead hit people in the face. Which historically does the opposite of getting your message across.

What’s sad is once you reach a point where you’re hitting people over the head with your grand message the characters barely a character. Just a writers-self-insert caricature for you to preach to your audience.

They 100% cannot help themselves and just tell a story independent of their opinion the audience must be told how to feel about their self-insert characters. Can’t risk them getting the wrong message afterall.

I can count on one hand the number of well-written “progressive” characters and as time goes on its rapidly diminishing.
Like Marvel has Miles Morales meanwhile DC is just giving us Superman - but black. They aren’t even trying. And they dont have faith in other material like where tf is my Static Shock and Blade remake?

The topic at hand is that the movie is “wOkE” for featuring a female lead, which for you, is bad news, you are going as far as purposely spreading misinformation about the movie (or maybe it’s the bad sources you have, since you rely on shitty Youtubers like Mr H), Kee is not 15, she is 19-20, while her brother will be 17-18. Kee is a truth teller and has insight others do not and has trained her younger brother in combat, even tho the tribe doesnt approve of it. The movie is setting this up to link with Billy (who is of comanche origin in universe) sensing the Predator back in the original movie, since y’know, this is a prequel
