Have you read the synopsys of the film?
I don’t think it’ll automatically be bad. Especially if they go for a Ripley style character. I just think they’re gonna do some generic stuff instead of capitalising on the themes & time period setting.
Best outcome is the movie capitalizes on its theme of “Siblings” and has a Female & Male Yautja sibling duo to contrast with the Comanche siblings billed as the human protags.
Have the young male Yautja die to the tribe in the first act, perhaps to the human main character’s own brother even. And thus his sister comes out to play and she utterly decimates the entire Tribe in revenge, effortlessly tearing through their numbers until it is just the original brother & sister left and the human sister has to use her own wits and even knowledge as a healer to devise a way to defeat this female Predator to save her own brother from its revenge.
Make the sibling theme carry over to both sides and show how both human & predators can act almost the same in times of strife/when pushed to their limit.
After all it’s been canon for like 30 years that Female Predators are the ones who are ACTUALLY the real deal. They don’t fuck around. They’ll kick your ass whilst the males play and try to show off. Look how Cleo decimated Dutch after he’d spent decades hunting Yautja in revenge for Val Verde. Cleo came in and without even blinking killed his entire team and left him alive with a permanent netgun scar as a taunt.
So if you make use of the sibling dynamic of Skulls to bring in a Fem Pred who is out to avenge her own younger brother who died on the Hunt, you get to show on-screen why everyone goes monke for 'em and wants them to crush their head like watermelons between their thighs.

Yautja - 2.5m tall reptilian alien with super human strength and senses, boosting the most advanced tech… Disney is putting against it a 15 year old Comanche girl, whose only super power is being against gender norms and toxic men (not making this shit up, its in the film synopsis)
Unless I’m missing something – how in God’s name that utter bullshit can turn out ok?

It would take some really really good writing and story work for this to be good. Something I’m personally feeling is lacking in Hollywood these days.
One thing I’m kinda curious about is a revenge concept in Yautja’s. I mean I’m not really a lore expert but I kinda feel like they treat death as either honorable or dishonorable as individuals from what I have seen.
Do love the idea of a female yautja going buck wild and a female human protagonist pulling off that desperate but fearless Ripley style last stand. You can be “woke” without being stupid and making it your focus. So long as it’s a personal character trait and not a “defy stereotypes” thing.
Probably just be Captain Marvel vs Predator though

Well probably not in a straight fight because none of the battles in this series outside of games & comics has been won by just shooting them. The whole movie, if written well, will be constantly like the final act of Predator 1. Just guerrila warfare 24/7. Using a bunch of traps, tricks, poisons, etc. Constantly muddied up.
How can Comanche possibly understand what thermal vision is? This film has already failed, there is no way I will do the same mistake as with 2018 Predator and buy a ticket for it. I MAY download a free pirate copy, but only if its slightly better than 2018 shit show
