Ok, general question for PC gamers?

So, Im a PC player and Im mega enjoying my time with this game, even though there seems to be a lot of negativity about it. I play both Fire Team and Predator and already maxed out to LV100, and I enjoy both sides, and even more so after the 1.06 patch.

Im a little concerned though about these “hackers” that have been mentioned in the forums, and my recent playthrough kind of worried me. I was playing as the Predator and had one PS4 player and 3 PC players on the map. Everything was going smoothly until I reached the FT. I kid you not, the spotted message and sound went off instantly! Like, I saw the fire team, but they were not even looking in my direction…and I was cloaked!

Is this a thing? Are there PC players that have already somehow hacked this game? Surely this has an online anticheat engine thingy to stop people doing these kinds of things?

Now I know that you have to be completely still and all that, and PC players are very precise, but this, this did not seem that its was a quick press “E” key response so quickly.

It may just be me still trying to get used to playing against PC players, and to be honest, I have played a few FT PC players, but this seemed way to quick a response time to be a human player.

Im hoping that Im wrong and these were not hackers, and that they were just a really good FT, but it just seemed way too quick, no mater where I was etc.

Has anyone else experienced this playing as the Predator on PC? If so, I thought this was supposed to have an anticheat engine thingy to stop people from doing stuff like that? Also If someone is doing that, how can you tell which PC player it is, so I can report it?

Yeah, literally every time I tried to sneak up on the Fireteam. Bare in mind I was cloaked and moving mega slowly (crouching), and literally the moment I peeked out, bam, “SPOTTED”, and the spotted sound just sounded like it was pressed multiple times.

Like I know the whole spotting mechanic needs to be tonne down, but this just seemed way too artificial.

sounds like an exploiter to me. All we can hope for is a better detection system and an ip ban system

If so thats a shame, as it makes us PC players look bad. No I can kind of understand why so many PS4 players are calling the PC player base cheaters. Its happend a few times now, so if it is “exploiters” then I hope Illfonic put something in place to stop it. Thats a proper shame!

The biggest possibility and that a lot can agree is that you can lower the visual fidelity and foliage on the map to easily see movement in the environment.

Yeah I did think that, especially the foliage settings. That could be the case, but it was like every little movement I made where I come into view cloaked, it suddenly went off, which seemed to quick, even for a keyboard wizzard!

I’m not entirely convinced of hacks just the edge that PC can lower their settings and it really sucks especially for a game that has a side to specifically play stealth. Also the advantage of a mouse to which a solution can be that you must plug in a controller in order to play cross play. I can live with that even when I play FT

Whining about PC hackers is lame. We PC players don’t like hackers anymore than they do. People should really drop the PC part as though it’s our fault. I hacked one time in America’s Army a long time ago and jesus it was boring after one minute. I don’t get how people can do it unless they’re trying to grief.
