Ok, so the Pred is still too weak.

I agree, pred is too weak still. But it has nothing to do with simple damage numbers, or resistance numbers.

It has to do with how the game forces both teams to play, or at least encourages them to.

This is why I made a super post to completely rework this game.

As it stands the game is bleeding out. Every single player, whether casual or hardcore pred fans, can all agree on this.

Yes, we have more “balance” right now. But a game like this needs to be balanced in different ways, then say call of duty or halo.

Fireteam should be the weaker team, but stronger together. However even together, they should still be playing the match like its a fight for survival, not a fair fight. Because it isnt.

To be more specific on your points

  1. Cloak does need to be improved, I absolutely agree with tthat as it will open up more than just rushing playstyles.

  2. Pred needs to be able to heal faster. I agree, however only if the rest of the game were to remain the same. If the games are more drawn out, then im fine with it being as slow, if not slower.

  3. Permanent penalties is a good idea, but they shouldnt be overdone, this has to be balanced very carefully, otherwise its gonna go sideways quick.

  4. Plasma caster tracking is canon, however for the sake of gameplay, I DO NOT want this in any capacity. Damage needs to be returned, or the charge time has to be quicker.

  5. Knife parrying needs more counters, I outlined this within the weapons section of my guide.

  6. I agree with pred melee being stronger, but only if everything else is retuned. Then once that is done, I want both melee to hit harder, as well as the fireteam to hit harder too. That way rushing in with melee is punished severely, for both sides.

I think the game is in a good place right now. i win a lot with pred and i lose some when the team is better than i was… I dont get how you can get more balance than that.

Its not perfect. most of the issues i have are with the clunkyness, glitchyness and bugs.

Feels in a good place to me.

In the end though the devs see the wins/losses and if something needs to change it will.

You know how i know its well balanced not jsut from my opinion but from the forum.

When the pred was underpowered everyone agreed and all the posts were about that, fireteam said it, preds said it, i said it. etc.

Now you look throught the posts and youll see, “Fireteam is OP” - “Pred is OP” - “fireteam weak” - “pred weak”

“this is weak cuz i lost to it” - “parry is op” - “combistick is op”

Thats how i know its in a good place because there is no single focus and people are just venting on what they lost to. so…

This was better. Butif you read through the forums a lot of people still agree pred is still a bit, but not much weaker than FT. Any good coordinated FT can beat a predator i would say 90% of the time. The other 10 they lose because of little mistakes. Now by beat i mean escape not kill. But one thing you are right on is the fact this game is close to a great balance. Maybe when these new updates come about and along with the new content itll be at its best with some slight tweaking here and there for minor improvements. I really look forward to seeing how they do these updates.

@KameofWar, In regards to the NetGun interacting with the Huntsman trap perk I’ve heard both yes and no. Do you have any definitive answer? The spreadsheet would suggest no but I wanted to ask just in case.

yeah im winning 90% of my games as pred and imagine if you buffed him even more! imagine those losing to pred all the time then see hes being made stronger again?!

Its not their fault they dont have a premade great skill fireteam they just want to play a fun game with randoms. thats why i say its about right now. a premade high skill fireteam on coms should have a very high chance of winning but a public game also have to have a chance against a average pred.

Things can change here and there balance wise but i think we need to leave it a few months and see how things settle down before making any more changes.

Id like bugfixes QOL and maybe some more content/DLC etc

I’d still like a few more smaller balance changes and some tweaks to some of the weapons and classes to make things more relevant, but I’d say it’s a fair point.

Yea i agree fully, seems like theres still somethings to Nerf i see that LMG come up alot maybe tone down its dmg?

I think the lmg just needs a longer reload. Currently the AK47 has a longer reload than the lmg… makes alot of sense right? lol

lol do you not? well. i can tell you 100% he is. a coordinated fire team will rip through him like melted butter. a chance too hunt the fireteam. yeah and get spam spotted where ever the pred runs and jumps too. play pred see how you fare and do against a half decent team and watch them melt you …

it does for the mashing taking longer to get out of the net however a single knife swing still breaks the net making it sort of work with huntsman trap perk but not super well it also doesn’t effect the dmg whatsoever it will do the same amount of dmg in just a longer period of time

cool to know thanks. Some of my FT questions I’m sure sound dumb as I don’t play many shooters and don’t know as much as I’d like about guns IRL so sorry. Do you know of any FT damage spreadsheets so I can decide what would suit my playstyle the best? I have a hard time really noticing a significant difference between like the assault rifles or submachine guns for example. I like numbers to judge that kind of thing. Going off of ingame stat blocks seems flawed as the dps can be misleading.

just use this thread the posts i made in it i answered this exact question sadly i never bothered to make a spreadsheet this was all tested in a private game for a streamer called Oroboro some of it was on stream

Yeah I saw that thank you for the help. That’s actually what I was talking about when I mentioned that my gun questions made me sound like an idiot, lmao. I do know the AK thankfully. The others I’m trying to improve my hardware recognition skill as that would help not sound full of shit with my writing. I try to do ALOT of research before I quote something’s capabilities so there’s that. But in game terms I don’t know enough to be like “This says it does more damage and slightly less speed but the seemingly small additional speed on this one will actually make up for the damage difference and then some.” I just look at all the bar ratings and I’m like “alright this has more positive than negative differences so it must be the better overall weapon”. Other things I’m just like I know this is supposed to be better but for some reason I find I’m more effective with this for my skill and playstyle. But I’m always eager to see stats and good reasons to change my assessments of things. So I really aporeciate the spreadsheets and advice. What are your thoughts on the Preds Caster Pistol? Any use to it besides it not having a laser pointer or is it just a waste of space?

over whether or not the plasma pistol is trash he has a compelling arguement for why it isn’t so atm i will believe it has some use if the person using it is explicitly using it for this purpose described here with the method he describes
