I recommend to watch my video with an open mind. If the 3 FT had done what the 1 FT did, I could have been in serious trouble and would have had to rethink my tactics or be punished for them.
But instead the opposite happened.

I agree with you that the slam damage needs to be reduced in some way. I’m fine with the damage going through obstacles though.
That said, reducing the damage only helps the problem if the FT helps themselves.
Ok so I’d keep slam the same as it’s always been, the reason is because it’s not over powered 1v1 it gets its strength from hitting multiple targets at the same time, if a fire team is dumb enough to hide in the same room that’s on them.
I also say slam is fine as is because it’s the only effective way to deal with camper teams that hide in the same room.
I’ve said it in another thread but it need’s to stay in some form mainly as the predator just can’t attack 4 FT inside a building and survive. I would turn the slam into more of a stun effect that way they can’t just use it to win the game but it become more of a tactic where they can stun the FT and then quickly engage them with blades etc. Also you could then introduce perks that increase stun duration or area of effect
You don’t even need to get them out. If they don’t come out they lose the game, they are against time, not you. Also try the disk, plasma blasts and bow. If you fail with those… You have different problems.
I wouldn’t change the roof slam.
I’m not very good with the bow or the disc so slam it is.
I get, to throw off the predator and not go in right away.
But at some point you have to be inside of a building to fi nsh an objective or gain some cover from raining projectiles.
I guess it’s one of those things that if they touch it it would piss people off more than fix anything…
Yet a ton of people use the roof slam to win games.
I’ve been apart of so many games that were epic as fuck that got ruined by being slamme through the roof.
Even if I was simply trying to lose the predator under a hut or, through a village on backwater.
May as well run out in the open then and not attempt to throw the pred off?
The problem is that the FT thinks not leaving the objective doesn’t count as camping. Here is a fun fact about the missions: you can’t fail the mission. If you need to stay inside a building to finish the objective and you are getting rood slammed, leave the building. The timer pauses, shoot the predator with your great bullets and force him to flee to heal and then go back and finish it.
Other ideas is have your scout chase the pred when he has to second wind so the rest of your team has more time on the objective, or leave your recon behind, having him mud up and stay in the building while the other three leave the camp so the pred thinks you’ve moved on.
All this boils down to leave the building and kill the predator. If you won’t leave the building to kill the predator, you don’t have a leg to stand on when you complain about how you can’t fight back.
Easy.
You remove roof slam, as its unskillful.
And you change the handheld plasma caster into a predator grenade launcher that has to charge to be fired. This means pred can still flush out the FT, but has to expose himself to do so.
Also makes the handheld less of a spam blaster. (This idea was more relevant a few days ago when handheld was a water spray gun lol)
Could just decrease the damage through rooftops significantly right? Perhaps?
It’s pretty useful for full team campers but I see your point about using plasma caster or other weapons for this
Yeah, Because at least if we retool another weapon to deal with this, predator has to expose himself to fire into the building. Thats called risk vs reward. Thats balance.
But also the slam onto certain buildings(most) still leaves you vulnerable to fire to people outside due to the animation. I’m not trying to just point out everything to be annoying just things to think about
Thats true, but often times either its difficult toget an angle, and if the entire FT is in the building in the first place, they arent gonna get out to shoot pred before he leaps away in most cases.
of course this really depends on positioning and timing.
That’s a bunch of horseshit. If you don’t want FT players to “camp” buildings then i suggest you tell Ilfonic to place all fucking objectives outside or at least allow us to walk more than one fucking foot away from it.
What?! Spamming the Plasma caster and its splash damage from a mile away into a building isn’t advantageous enough for you? Well. Then rework your shit and go for a close combat build. The default Zerker alone without perks is a ridiculous bullet sponge. You have no excuses.
Slam going through buildings is a bunch of bullshit and you people defending it are simply not good Pred players. You have to rely on piss poor balancing, exploits and downright broken mechanics to succeed.
Well, i will add-on to your proposal of mudding up and hidding right… So basically my take on this would be Leave the slam on roof but deduct the damage if its not directly on players… rather it deducts dmg if you lets say do it on roof and it would make sense to kinda give them a bit of a damage scare but not too much that it takes away all of your HP lol… In this case leave it its totally fine mechanic BUUUT my take on this would be… add another mechanic which is seen from the movies and that is a mechanic called Blend in with the trees when you mud up you can lay on ground and be in mud OR better version is… be mudded up and let the tree trunks be your blending in material
Actual deduction rate would be:
If i recall assault class has 175hp right… and for every other class except the support one, it should take like around 20-30HP from your current HP… for every other class except Support which can tank the electrical shock from the predatoe… which actually takes away like 15HP on each slam…
And yes my final take on this is, its necessary to have this a thing againts campers (I honestly use it only if people stay there for a while or hide againts the AI)… Maybe if one guy drifts away i stun him then finish him off and leap away…
PLUS we can all agree that even among us as fireteam players and predator players there will always be people who exploit and troll, we just have to accept it or until devs do smth about it to tone it down to the point its not noticable as much lol…
Roofslam is my favorite counter to anyone using ceiling cover, but I don’t think it needs to do quite as much damage as it does currently.
