Lol I was replaying AvP and it makes you think:
Given all the ABOMINATION ABOMINATION ABOMINATION talk you get with the predalien and yautja motivations in general its obvious Predators are arrogant and prideful, and think they’re the best thing since sliced bread. Its one thing to use lesser races like cattle for your expensive safari temple, that’s all in good fun, but a predalien is a testimony to a failed hunt therefor a big deal. They are the hunters, not the prey. So why is OWLF killing preds & stealing tech not being taken seriously? At some point you’d get tired of seeing the lions maul your buddies. Isn’t scientists stealing their stuff and using it against them a mockery of everything they stand for?
I just want some consistency in pred lore, even if we put AvP aside here as seperate lore (lets assume AvPR is irrelevant because preds are stupid and sent 1 guy to take out all the aliens on earth solo with a stick, a whip, and a vial of koolaid) - Do they actually care about their technology or not? If it matters enough to nuke city blocks worth of unarmed civilians then why do they even leave peices behind or not have stricter rules to begin with?
Tbh I think comics took the klingon honor aspect way too far. Books are bad too, even that one where they tried to push the noble savage thing really hard and retcon that normal preds didnt hunt intelligent species and all the movie preds we’ve seen are outcast poachers.
Looking at the movies it just looks like they manually self-destruct because they’re sore losers, kind of like how we go and put the lion down personally after it kills one of our fellow hunters, not give it a fighting chance & a suit of armor. They don’t kill women and children in the same way we prefer to kill the male deer with the biggest antlers. P1 engaged arnie in a fist fight to flaunt superiority and was actually salty af when he actually got away. Anyone carrying or even reaching for a weapon is dead, its like they think people who carry weapons want to play: perhaps they don’t understand pure self defense or undesired war, so they see us all shooting each other and think that they’re just thrill seeking in whichever free-for-all pvp zone they wander into.
Tl;dr preds don’t like losing. Predaliens are a reminder of losing. OWLF is a reminder of losing. Where is the OWLF exterminator or are they just going to keep chucking sticks and donating bodies for humans to dissect?
