Op, or not op? (Poll)

Sure, that should give the regulars time.

I think the combistick throw is significantly OP. I think the Yautja bow and plasma pistol are slightly OP.

I think the bolt action sniper is slightly OP at long range only.

Everything else is good enough to leave alone, except the CS12. The cs12 is garbage.

indeed.

The poll needed to factor what platform people were playing on.

Because I assure you that ‘more’ (not all) PS4 players will think Pred is OP.

It won’t let me change the poll, it always says I can’t change it after five minutes.

Yeah I know. Not your fault. Its designed that way.

Man, if only they would practice more.

matches are somewhat ranked. I was playing with a friend who just got the game and the preds we were matching were super noobs.

However, if queue is slow, it will match up with any available players

Now the big problem with the current ranked match making is that you can be lvl 150 and never played the other faction and have no idea how to play it.

I think FT level and Pred level should be independent

My only real issue with the balance is how its not even at low skill levels. Melee is the biggest issue. It takes no skill to melee to victory. Just leap in and smash 1 button. To counter with parry it does take some degree of skill. You need to know how to dance around the predator, to use heavy attacks+light attacks, to keep an eye out if he raises the spear to trow it and a few other things(elder sword is just insane here). This translates into nobs being able to melee to victory but nobs not being able to parry to save themselvs.
Predator melee is to simplistic in this game, it should take some skill, like at the very least button combinations to do combos with certain moves being unable to be parried but having certain signs so if you’re good you can dodge them.

I mean you do have to get close and not get melted by revolvers and vectors and aks

If all of them work together and you try to melee 1 from full to 0… Yeah, you’re dead. Now I said nobs(or new players). You’re going to get to 1 isolated guy. He is not bursting you down before you melt him in melee. He is probably not even get any hits in once you leap to him and start swinging.

Being away from the team is a mistake that is easily rectified. No need to further weaken the predator.

I think you need to read again what I originally posted.

Melee is OP in preds favor against a low skill single FT?

Predators have to dance around 4 players.

You have to watch out for parry’s, vectors, revolvers, aks, grenade launchers, miniguns etc.

It does take skill for Predator melee.

It does not. Go hit the pred que, find 4 randoms on PS and see how hard it is to win with nothing but melee. Like leaping in and smashing attack with combistick/elder sword.
I’ve seen countless people go down even if up to 3 of them were there. Again, at low skill levels considering that it takes NO SKILL to push 1 button (aside for leaping in) its damn easy to floor someone and claim. The other people shooting? LOL! They’re not hitting shit! How do you think I get up to 4-5k damage on the predator and the rest have around 300 damage?

Now when we are talking about skilled people melee is fine.

So what are you suggesting be done?

Easiest thing would seem to be learn to parry, stick with your team and watch each other’s backs.

I am not paid to think for this stuff, I already got a job :) the best thing that can come to mind is give some button presses in the form of combos like I said initially, something to add a bit of skill into it. Even AVP had more in depth melee system (not by much but still).

No argument there.

They did it with the samurai sword, they can do it with the other melee weapons.

Exactly, that thing actually has something better then smash 1 button.
